Discovered three .50 cal. ammo cans :) in a cluttered garage that I inherited.  Cleaned them inside and out then left out to dry.  Need to get a can of Rust-o-leum for some minor touch up.

Did springtime bicycle maintenance:  Rinsed & wiped down; topped off tires; oiled chain & sprockets with "White Lightening [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co"; replaced broken rear red flasher light with a new one; and due to moving to a new state, I had to install a white front headlight and a rear red reflector to make it "street legal" for night time riding.  I'd rather not become "tazer bait"....got to love the nanny state.

Hey, but at least we got concealed carry....along with a litany of conditions.  Also, possession of a firearm with a magazine capacity above 30 rounds (except for .22lr) can get Ohioans a state "machine gun" conviction.

3 cases of canned goods
400 assorted Rnds
Assorted medical and hygiene supplies
Cast aluminum table mounted meat grinder
Another 36 canning jars and extra lids
Saved $240 from scrap metal to purchase A PTR 91. Still haven't decided if that's what I'm getting but its on the list.
I want to save up about $900 for gun buying.

I did however loose my job last week so that's gonna change my pattern of prepping for a lil while.
the company i worked for closed its doors for good and about 25 skilled tradesmen are out of work.
The worst part is we didn't close due to the economy. One of the owners embezzled a shit ton of money and destroyed the companies credit rating. The remaining owners tried to keep the place afloat for the last 8 months, butt we folded anyway.
Just another case of one guy destroying multiple lives for sport and profit.

Sorry to hear about your job man- That SUCKS! If you have a CDL (Commercial Driving License) the gas companies are hiring in NE PA. $20- an hour plus 100% menidcal coverage for you and your family. You will be driving water trucks for fracking.

On another note: I don't know if you know it or not but PTR 91 is in CT. down near Hartford. They are a great group of guys and if you set it up in advance they will give you a tour of the plant.

As I am sure you know, PTR got a bad wrap a few years ago due to some ammo not cycling well in their rifles. Apparently the chambering was so exact you couldn't use cheap Russian ammo or in some cases sloppy reloads. Rather then change their tooling they came out with a new version (The model # escapes me at the moment) who's chambering is...lets say...looser.

I have two friends who swear by theirs.

On another note: If you have your heart bent on having an "ugly black rifle" in .308 you can build your own for about half the price. GAPATRIOT shared this compnay with me: http://www.tacticalmachining.com/receivers.html

I also found this company who is milling 80% lowers:

planted 6 pecans and 40 purple-hull peas. (in my signature seed-starting containers  :))) the pecans have been in my family for about 60 years and the purple-hulls have been in the family for about 150 years. we'll see how this goes... (i don't know wtf I'm doing.. lol)

in-laws also brought us about a dozen strawberry plants

tomorrow I'll get started on my pumpkin squash, and okra.

I'm only using about 25% of my total supply of heirlooms from my BOL (even though I can get more at any time by just driving a couple hours) just in case this season is a total disaster.. I'll still have plenty left over for next season.

I got 4 milk crates i'm filling up with preps. I have one for each area water and purification, food, med supplies, and other things that don't fall into those categories.
I figure a milk crate is a good unit of each category to stockpile. when i fill up one group of 4 crates i'll start on another 4.
Another plus is that they are easy to get in a hurry and bug out with.

I got them for free from my firehall
The food service we use just leaves them there.
Sorry to hear you aren't having good luck finding them for cheap. I've gotten them whipped across the room at me they want to get rid of them so bad :))

Bought a Big Berkey water system. Exercised chest and biceps. Trasnfered 2000 rounds to ammo cans.

dug out a spot for a new 8x4 raised bed. I'll most likely have to dig another one to accommodate all the stuff I've planted (and other stuff that I'm still waiting to plant)

What have I done to prep today?

Well, I survived getting electrocuted....while pressure washing!  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

I still don't know exactly how it happened.  No, I wasn't spraying the power meter, but I was standing near it.  Either somehow water made it into the basement and dripped behind the fuse box OR it had something to do with the wire that goes to the water meter, which I was spraying near at the time.....Does anyone know if that wire carries significant voltage?

Luckily it popped me in mid-swing of the wand....A sudden bite followed by hair raising tingling as I swung away to open the circuit.  It entered at my left middle finger (hurt like a m-f'er)and exited at my right foot (flip-flops in a puddle.)

So I guess I can say I survived to prep another day.

It doesn't say "FCC" on it but could "G65N" be a FCC number?
