mountain you have no idea how great browning weapons are, my grandpa growing up in the swamp always relied on his browning a-5, it always went bang everytime he pulled the trigger. there not only nice weapons but perform as good as they look, i dont know about you but if you want a gun that your grandkids can continue using that 22 is it.

@ Reaver and Mountain- When you guys say prone to jamming are you talking about the ATI mp5 clones or the actual HK .22's. Because I could be mistaken, but I thought the HK .22 MP5's were new to the market. I've not kept up like I used to.  :-[ But I know the ATI models were prone to frequent jams.

P.S. If I get a frickin' Browning lever action it'll be in 30-06 (eventually). I'm not crazy about the looks of the Henry .22, but for the price I could tolerate to redo it.

Seriously BWB stop it with the Browning crap already. You are wrong, so fucking wrong it isn't funny.

I shot out a 10/22. It never failed to fire. NEVER.

I have my grandfathers Sears and Robuck Ranger 101 .22 and guess what? It has never failed to fire.

Both of them are tack drivers one cost $180 in the 90s the other cost $15 in the 40s. No one needs to spend AR money on a fucking .22 no matter how much your goose stepping grandfather loves it. Fuck if its such a good rifle why does anyone bother with any of the other dozen or so makes?

K, that's what I was kind of figuring. I'll do a range report one it when/ if I get it. At least that I can take to my local know it all gun asshat gun range. Well, as long as I count two seconds between each shot.  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

i'm using my grandpa's 22, its so fucking used the wood has no stain left on the stock where your hands go
it has more fucking rounds through it than i could even guess
to this day it works perfect and shoots straight as shit

and there are 10/22's with more fucking rounds through them than you will ever shoot

both rifles will only cost you about $200 or less

you got alot to learn boy

is it a nice gun? sure
but if you count the price its a damn poor excuse for a 22lr rifle

Lol, you guys trolled BWB about .22s to prep for today... and yesterday.. and the day before! lmao. They are still talking about this for a reason man.

go buy a used .22lr from your local gunshop for $180.00 and spend the other $520.00 on ammo for the thing. you wont ever run outta ammo for the rest of your life.

I say this only if you just HAVE to spend 700 dollars on .22 thats my .02

I'm gonna break it down like this. First hit on Google sets the price.

1 Browning $699.00 MSRP

-or-

1 10/22 Ruger $221.00
10 10/22 Magazines (30rds) $160
9,975 rounds of Federal Blammo $304
Hoppes U22 Cleaning kit $8

And that leaves you with enough to buy lunch at Taco Bell.

After being a member of this forum for a little while, I have a renewed love and respect for the 22 cal. After realizing all of the purpose it would have in a prepping world, it's easy to see that it's not just your Grandfather's squirrel gun anymore.

I agree.  I really like that little round.  It has a lot of uses and the price is right.  (As long as you're not buying a $600 Browning.  LOL!)

P90X sucks and I hate it....but it works & I must keep to it.  :-\

No, sledge no recoil pad for me. Though 7 rounds of 12 gauge does hurt quite a bit.

I picked up a box of thunderbolt ( 500 ) for 12 bux at a flea market the other day.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

Frig that!  The frigging thing would beat me to death.  If you ever visit Florida I'll let you borrow mine and see how many rounds of 00 you want to put through it.  It's light so it will always be with me.  But you really have to want to kill something to talk yourself into pulling the trigger the 2nd time.  I'm big on shooting from the hip, close in with that thing.  I've been thinking about changing it over to a pistol grip.
