What's in a group?
« on: February 19, 2012, 11:00:31 PM »
I was sitting here wondering if the SHTF, who and how many would I want in my group? What would the group be made up of? I'm a family man so I more than likely would be joined up with other families. (number unknown) Probably 2 or 3 other families. I know a few that are very like minded, good with guns, very level headed, trustworthy and most of all very good friends. The're not preppers, ( I don't know any), but they would be the first ones to join up with for me in short notice. Some of you young single bucks would probably band together. I don't know. I don't want to know what your plan is already. Just kind of what your perfect scenario would be and why.

Awesome topic, but very hard to answer and fathom.  The more folks you have the more signature you have and your mobility will suffer, but yet the more potential shooters you will have.  For a "bug-in" I would think the more the merrier and work could be shared.  Besides, more people means more skill sets and more tools put to good use.  If I had to "bug-out" and keep moving (I know this sounds heartless) I would want myself and 3 other sesoned shooters for stealth and mobility.  No women, no kids.

Sounds like some sound judgement!

I'll just stick with "the more the merrier." Don't get me wrong. That doesn't mean I'd be helping out some punks or random thugs just looking for a handout, but I'll do my damn best to treat others as I'd want to be treated if I was at their mercy (because you never know when you may be). Keep in mind though that I'm a family man. If I didn't have the wife and kid I might stick with what 1000meterstare said. At least initially.
