What's going on?

Is it just me or is it something I haven't been told about? I went down to the truck stop to get my daily coffee about 10:30 AM and even though lightning killed all the gas pumps about 3 days ago, the parking lot was full of cars. OK, its Saturday and its usually busy on the weekends. However, when I left, I just happened to look at the mainline of the Interstate highway and the traffic was bumper to bumper in both the North and Southbound lanes. Are people taking PANIC VACATIONS because they know about the coming collapse or is it that they don't know what's happening and its just Normalcy Bias?

   We had to go to the closest town to our west yesterday on the interstate and it was bumper to bumper.  It seemed like there were less 18-wheelers than normal.  There were a few RV's and vehicles pulling camping trailers, but the majority were cars.  On the return home we took back roads, because the interstate traffic was so heavy.  Traffic was moving right along too.  I'm guessing folks are just taking normal vacations, traveling while the price of gas has dropped some ($3.58/gallon locally) and before the next major wave of the Chinese virus.  Schools open here in a couple of weeks.

Traffic is crazy up here but then again its peak fishing season and the sockeye are coming in hot and heavy this year. Fuel costs haven't changed much on the past month although about an hr south two gas stations are having a price war and they are about .50 cents less expensive than up here. For what its worth I always support the little guy down there regardless of price
