How to share knowledge and lessons learned
« on: October 27, 2015, 01:24:51 PM »
Hi All,

I need a bit of advice.

In our Prep journey we have learned a great deal.

Coupled with that and my Military experience. I am looking for a way to share this with the wider prep community.

So I am looking for ideas.

I am thinking of putting up a website. Yet there are so many out there now. Is it worth it?

Could I write articles and submit them to other Prepper sites?

What do you think?

Thanks

Rob

It will be hard not to repeat what others have said but then again it might stick in thier brains more. Everyone does things differently and most preppers are willing to learn different ways to get things done.
Go ahead and Good Luck. I can't wait to read your website.
In principle, no less than in practice, socialism is the ideology of thieves and tyrants.

I am confident I have the right ones, but IIRC the guys below are always looking for contributing writers.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Being a contributing author would most likely be the easiest and getting paid is a bonus, but don't rule out starting your own blog and writing e-books. You could introduce your own blog/web site thru the sites that accept your articles in the author tag line. You could offer your e-books thru your site, their site, amazoid and others for example.

If your doing this for the money, the real money is in the advertising and that is tied to site traffic. If your doing this to "pay it forward", the e-book may be the answer as that allows you to write on your own schedule, not a deadline.

Just a different twist and similar to what brat wrote...

Write a novel. Incorporate what you have learned into the plot line. Then sell the book via e-book. Keep the price under $4.99 (The price that paperbacks use to sell for).

Plan on writing a series of a minimum of 3 books - Five would be best. Get people hooked and then you have a guarantee reader base.

Some good examples are:

Patriots Has ~4 novels out there that are overlapping plus a blog now
299 Days - Best example nine books plus a blog now
Enemies Foreign & Domestic has 4 books out there plus writes articles for $$$$
Others?

The secret is to knock out a plot line and then fill in the blanks. Simple right  ;)

Thank you all for the advice.

I am going to have a think on this.

Being an Ex-Army Paratrooper. An American Redneck living in the UK and a prepper. Has created an interesting set of lessons that I want to share.

I will get back to you all on this.

FYI, I have done a fair bit of writing and editing.  I work cheap (assuming you make half a $).  If you need/want/desire assistance.

G99, this site is all about sharing our knowledge and experiences. Plus APX keeps us humming along with the techy end. Just saying....

Ok All.

Here is the deal.

I am admittedly a bit of a semi messed up individual.

Due to my Ptsd restrictions I need a proxy for my prepper share knowledge communications.

Anyone interested in volunteering?
