USA - The Peoples Convoy

It looks like the US Freedom Convoy is getting ready to roll.

My one big worry is it is too centralized. Being centralized it will be a lot easier to shut down versus multiple cells or independent convoys. But what do I know.

IMO, the difference between the Canadian Freedom Convoy vs. the US one will be peaceful protest vs. nonpeaceful protests. I suspect that if what happened in Ottawa happens here, it will go kinetic quickly. This will be the reason for localized Emergency Powers Act, ala US Martial law.

This might be the new pandemic that the Democrats need to issue mail-in-ballots again. Time will tell.  :coffeeNews:

This is what happened back in the 1979 truckers strike over fuel.

Capitol fence to be reinstalled ahead of Biden?s State of the Union address
Capitol grounds were previously fenced off after Jan. 6, 2021, riot
By Jessica Chasmar , Chad Pergram | Fox News

Security officials will reinstall fencing around the Capitol next week ahead of President Biden?s State of the Union address, Fox News can confirm.

U.S. Capitol Police are bracing for a potential "Freedom Convoy" truck protest to Washington, D.C., for the March 1 speech. "Freedom Convoy" truckers have been protesting in Canada for weeks against coronavirus restrictions and vaccine mandates and caused a temporary blockade of the busy Ambassador Bridge border crossing between Windsor and Detroit.

Capitol Police say they are "aware" of similar protests coming to Washington, D.C., and are making plans to both "facilitate" First Amendment protest activity while working with law enforcement agencies and the D.C. National Guard to prepare for Biden's address.

"The United States Capitol Police and the United States Secret Service have been closely working together to plan for the upcoming State of the Union," the U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement Friday.

"Law enforcement agencies across the National Capital Region are aware of plans for a series of truck convoys arriving in Washington, D.C., around the time of the State of the Union," police said. "As with any demonstration, the USCP will facilitate lawful First Amendment activity."

The Capitol grounds were subjected to major fencing, policing, and military presence following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

Fox News' Marisa Schultz and Kyle Morris contributed to this report.

I've got a nice $10 bill that says there will be more people installing the fence than there will be in the audience. If Truckers in the US do anything it won't be on speech day. Sit Down and Shut Down strikes are more powerful than Active strikes. When I was growing up on the farm, I learned real quick that you have to let the Mule pull the plow because you can't make him pull the plow. It was almost comical to watch that Mule pull that single blade plow. Grandpaw would be going along just fine and then the Mule would just stop. I don't know if the mule decided he was tired or whether he just decided to be stubborn but Grandpaw would snap the reigns to get him to go again and the Mule would just stand there. Grandpaw would walk up to the Mule's head and rub his forehead and pat him on the neck while talking to the Mule. Then after about a minute of that, grandpaw would walk back to the back of the plow and lightly snap the reigns and the Mule would start plowing again. Mules are a lot smarter than horses and you can't make them do anything that they don't want to do. Why use a Mule? Because Mules are pound for pound, a lot stronger than horses.

PKv, when we lived in RI across from Aquidnick Island (Newport is at the south part of the island, Middletown was in the middle, and Portsmouth was at the north end), there was a farm that used mules. They were used to pull plows, wagons, farming equipment, etc. One day out of curiosity I stopped by the farm.

An older gentleman greeted me kindly and walked me through the process of taking care of mules. I use to own a few horses in my earlier life and they were very mercurial. The mules were not skittish or jumpy at all. They walked right over to me to check out the new human.

Horses are muscular for sure however, these animals were muscular on steroids.

The gentleman who showed me around told me that the mules really liked their job.

Anyway, fences around the House of Congress - Someone is making money for sure.  :lmfao:
