PKv, when we lived in RI across from Aquidnick Island (Newport is at the south part of the island, Middletown was in the middle, and Portsmouth was at the north end), there was a farm that used mules. They were used to pull plows, wagons, farming equipment, etc. One day out of curiosity I stopped by the farm.
An older gentleman greeted me kindly and walked me through the process of taking care of mules. I use to own a few horses in my earlier life and they were very mercurial. The mules were not skittish or jumpy at all. They walked right over to me to check out the new human.
Horses are muscular for sure however, these animals were muscular on steroids.
The gentleman who showed me around told me that the mules really liked their job.
Anyway, fences around the House of Congress - Someone is making money for sure.
