Title: The Trump Victory High - Are you Over it Yet
Post by: JohnyMac on January 03, 2017, 04:32:25 PM
Post the Trump victory in November I have been watching the prepper community start to let down its guard to the point I thought it prudent to point out that, TRUMP AIN”T THE MESSIAH!

Not unlike the boy messiah AKA, President Barrack Obama who promised us better healthcare at a cheaper price, the seas would stop rising, our allies will respect us more, et cetera, Mr. Trump will not stop all illegal aliens coming into the country, raise the standard of living for the average US citizen, “clean the swamp”, et cetera.

So I am posting this in hopes that most of you have come off your “Clinton Defeat High” enough to see reality and get back to prepping for the inevitable. The inevitable being a local weather event, forest fire, or a normal job loss.

Then of course we have the other things to worry about like: Europe’s economy which will be a “bellwether” for us across the pond. The Chinese economy has to be reinvented by the Communist government as the world is already buying less and less of their product and it will only get worse with Trump’s nationalism and coming policies – Good/bad, smart/dumb, right/wrong, et cetera.

The Middle East is a whole other kettle of fish. Between the Bush and Obama administration the region is just one big hornets nest ready for anybody with a stick to rile it up. If you have ever accidentally threatened a hornet’s nest you well know.

Then at home here in these fine United States we have a lot of our own issues like: The Elites in DC not liking that half the country said, “get out” in November. I am talking about Sen. Sanders and Trump supporters mind you. There is a lot of unrest out there that will cause domestic terrorism when one side does not get what “they want.”

I implore you to not regress into “Normalcy Bias”. If anything, reprioritize your prepping “punch-list” and accelerate parts of your plan to weather what is coming over the next 6-12 months. It will not be pretty.

You are so right it wasn't until after Christmas when I realized that NORMALCY BIAS was setting in. The day after,  Monday I started a list of what I have to buy and do to keep my prepping spirits up.
 So glad you posted.

I've always said that we were screwed, no matter who won the election.  I haven't let up in my efforts for being prepared, and I have a number of projects planned for 2017.

I can't recall the world being so unsettled as it is now.

I christen the basket the "Deplorable's"  :)

care to join me in a shot of Glenfiddich (or something equally drinkable)?

  (just got done with my yearly preps inventory)

Mine is a bottle of Very Very Old Fitzgerald I obtained and opened in 1989.  It has been enjoyed down to half a bottle and stored properly ever since.

No and I will never be over it. I will make fun of liberals and remind them of how beta they are for the rest of my life.

Hopefully before it ends I'll get to show them but reminding them in public places and laughing in their faces will suffice for a while.
