There are a few other areas where I know this is happening.  Weaponcraft in Maine runs a series of training dates for Church security in the greater Portland area.  In the southern Florida area there are a few groups providing both training and full security for a number of churches and synagogues.

The church MrsMac and I attend encourages everybody to come armed.

Along with that, once the service is started all doors into the church are locked and has a armed member of the church guard the door. If you are late and the door is locked just tap lightly on it and you will be let in.

Gosh, we have been doing that since 2012 or so.
