Title: The State Has Declared War On The American People!
Post by: leadpersuasion on February 10, 2012, 03:29:18 PM
How the hell are we gonna fight this? This may sound dumb, but are RPGs legal to buy under a Class 3? How easy would that be to attain given this situation? I am completely dumbfounded by this shit!  [img]http://www.smileydesign.n

The state has not declared war, nor has it done so since Korea. By NOT declaring a state of war, it accomplishes many things:

1. It automatically delegitimizes any person or faction who opposes the policy. The IRA fought against the British military for over 20 years. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher dismissed them as common criminals who did not deserve status as political prisoners or recognition as official soldiers, they were merely terrorists. Declaring war means you acknowledge a person or government body as legit in a sense, thus you involve the Geneva Convention.

2. It allows the President to gain unprecedented powers by extrajudicial means (Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, Patriot Act, NDAA, etc) that will receive very little opposition. Because the Constitution does not explicitly detail the types of situations that might unfold, it's used as an excuse to further consolidate power under the Executive Branch.

3. To "declare war" has lost its meaning over the years. It no longer represents the legal process of commencing hostilities with another party. It's a watered-down catch phrase that simply means to force someone into doing something by threat of armed reprisal.

4. By not declaring anything, you avoid copious media attention, you try to play down your own move to keep the population pacified.

Ever since 9/11 we've become an increasingly militarized society, like Hitler's Germany. They supported the camp program because it kept those darn Communist infiltrators off of the streets. They were tough on crime, like us. They loved and adored their sons who wore the uniform, so naturally, marching into the Rhineland or Austria wasn't such a bad thing.

Like Rome, violence and the threat of violence is now a part of our political system, whether we want to admit that or not.

As to the countermeasures against drones, all you really need is a computer. I wonder if Anonymous will take action?

I guess we better start experimenting with homemade E.M.P. anti-aircraft weapons! ...or find out where the drones are being controlled from.

I don't know what building that is.  But is it surrounded by water or what?  I don't think you could get me to live there during hurricane season.

it's the U.S. Naval base in Algiers, Louisiana (literally a thousand yards or so away from the French Quarter.. just across the river)

now it's kind of like a joint navy/marine corps facility.

Its amazing how our government is sprinting towards the bright light of totalitarianism.

Sorry to say gents; I pray that we are forced to hit the reset button sooner than later.

Here's a really good article posted on the intel hub.  Usually I take what they post with a grain of salt.  Apparently they've hired some new writers.  It's a little long, but man, he does a really good job of putting together an analysis of why police department's grants from the Fed and DHS skyrocketed last year and are on a 400% increase this year.

"So now that you know our law enforcement has been beefed up with military power, you have to ask yourself why the US military would possibly be needed for a few random terrorists? Why did the NDAA have to be amended to stipulate that military force should be used in the US if our police force has every bit the same capability?

They claim that we had 19 terrorists involved on 9/11, so how many are they expecting now? Are they expecting whole infantries of bazooka toting Muslim terrorist radicals? (An oxymoron if ever there was one.)

If LA and New York could put up over a thousand police against simple Occupy protestors (1,400 at LA OWS), surely they can handle a terrorist threat with their new military-style armor."

OK, right up front I will admit I am not the sharpest knife in the knife drawer. With that said, why does our congress keep voting for / approving these things? I know we need to vote the bastards out and believe me Nov could not come any faster to do so, but why do they keep voting for / approving these things?

I don't know how many people work on Capital Hill; I mean we know we have 535 folks in Congress plus their staffs, plus drivers, plus guards, plus the press, etc. You would think by now if they knew that something terrible was coming down the pike it would have leaked out by now.

So why do they keep voting for this crap? I am just scratching my head here. I know that Paul would have said something!

It kinda makes you wonder if they know something we don't, doesn't it?

Maybe our Government loves us so much and they just want to keep us safe.  Hmmmm.  Nope.  I'm not feeling it!

JM you have to realize the way that most of them see the structure within this country.  Its like a pyramid with them, the few elite on top and everyone else beneath them.  They do these things thinking or knowing at this moment that nothing will happen to them and that they are held to a different standard, one that lets them get away with things that the lower class are heavily fined and imprisoned for.
