Popcorn "was" a badass.  He committed suicide to keep from going to Federal Prison on a tax charge related to his moonshine making.  I'm not sure if he ever did any time in prison during his life.  He seemed to love his freedom and it showed in his lifestyle.  I guess that's the way mountain men are.  Maybe a lot more than those of us who live in cities following the rules that have been laid down for us by people we've never met.  Live free or die must have been a way of life for him.  God bless and keep you Popcorn.  You were something special that we don't see much of any more.
