I didn't know that had a name, but as the article says we can see it being used pretty fucking often.
Here in Argentina they are using crime to justify installing cameras in every corner and many groups use it to push agendas to remove weapons from civilian hands.

How dare you Jmac, these people are looking out for us. It's harmful opinions like these that make the internet an unsafe place for our youth.
We should pass a law that mandates the showing of both political viewpoints rather then just the extremist one.
This would create intellectual equality, and is totally not a form of censorship and polit education...
