He knows NOTHING - Rant
« on: August 18, 2019, 02:42:35 PM »
I got into a conversation with my 57 yr old NJ born and bred son inlaw yesterday. I was appalled that he knew nothing about what is going on. He never heard of AntiFa and when I showed him photo's of them beating on a bus he couldn't understand why they were doing that.
He has absolutely no knowledge of anything political and when pressed he said "I have a scatter gun". He's retiring soon and said he will move out of NJ.
I hope he retires before the 2020 elections.

I'm not sure but I think that's where the term, "Dumb Masses" came from. Say that real fast. There is a large segment of the population that haven't got a clue what's going on.

....how freaking disconnected do you have to be?
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

I work at hospitals in my area and while I have come across some people who have at least a small amount of awareness of what’s happening, a lot of them are simply unaware. If I break it down to groups, I see:

A large amount of people who are preoccupied with work and paying some heavy bills. One example is a friend of our’s who is currently paying multiple mortgages. “I can’t pay attention to AntiFa, I got bills to pay!”

Another group of people who have overly hectic home lives (at least in THEIR own mind, it’s hectic). One example is a friend of our’s who has four kids of her own and is fostering two others, trying to adopt a fifth, and the two they’re fostering are medically needy. “I don’t know what’s going on with politics. I’m Republican, but I have too much going on here to pay much attention to that stuff!” They say “Republican” like it’s a political philosophy, rather than just a party.

Father in law just had open heart surgery and now has to deal with the lifestyle changes that come with having what is essentially a bionic left ventricle. He pays attention to politics and events usually, but that’s not been in his focus for some months now.

Then you get the groups of people who are pacified with their vices. One former coworker would work primarily to pay the bills for his apartment, but food and gas, and support his life of video gaming. This is the guy who said to me “I know logically that I SHOULD learn to change my own tire, and that’s not a hard thing to do, I’m sure. I just have no desire to do it at all.” He pretended to be an up-to-date, event-watching intellectual, but he was little more than a couch potato gamer. Then you get the vices others are absorbed in: Drinking, gambling, drugs, multiple trips to the gym daily, partying, etc.

Some of that is understandable (not commenting on whether it is right or not, just that I understand) but some of that is simply unacceptable. They are in for a very abrupt awakening in the near future.

She's as bad as he is. I thought if I could convince him then my daughter would follow suit.

I think it is natural for the average person to stick their head in the sand and keep it there until.....The bullets start to fly. I believe it is human nature to not want to investigate outside of their comfort zone.

Then there is us. The folks that make up Unchainedpreppers. We see what is happening and what will probably come down the pike as we approach 2020 and post the up and coming elections. We are the Sheep Dogs that will step forward to help the philosophically blinded friends, relatives, and neighbors when the time arrives.

Or let them all die to increase our own survival rate.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Yes, some of that is understandable. And the system we are forced to operate in doesn’t make it any easier. Kids need fostering and that system is screwed up beyond repair. Father in law needed open heart surgery, but the system dictates that insurance takes up 90% of his concern. The people with bills to pay live in a system where bills go up and income goes down. It’s by design.

The others with the drugs and other vices? Well that’s obvious.
