Title: Sign of the times?
Post by: RB in GA on January 13, 2021, 10:14:28 PM
I stopped by one of the local gun stores and was greeted by a new sign in the window:  "Cash Sales Only".  I went in to see what was going on, and it seems in their case they were seriously worried about  mastercard/visa pulling the plug on gun sales.  Is anyone else running into this in their area?

No. Surprised as well - I figured they would want to milk the credit cards up until they are banned.

I have seen a couple of manufacturers and 1 online company loose as well as a training company have their processing company suspend their service. In each case their funds were tied up for up to 30 days. The reason stated was in case of charge backs.

This has not happened to any brick and mortar stores that I am aware of. It may only be a matter of time.  The local dispensaries have been unable to secure processing because federally they are still not legal.

My best friend (Not only best friend mind you) who is a FFL in NY. He stopped taking credit cards awhile ago. He only accepts cash cash. He allows lay-a-way but only cash. I asked him why and his response was, "I am protecting gun buyers from themselves."

We live in interesting times.
