Online anonymity
« on: January 23, 2012, 12:44:38 AM »
This is a recommendation:

Go here --> https://www.torproject.org/index.html.en

Then download for your platform (mac, windows, etc.)

And make it look like you're browsing the web from Germany.

What it does is bounce your broadcasting signal all over the place so that it's virtually impossible to people watching your browser to see what sites you're visiting or for websites to track your physical location.

They also have an app for android based phones that has a chat feature (possible option for member to member communications).

Before TSHTF I believe there's going to be a lot of this sort of thing becoming more useful.  The more anonymous you can become (no reference intended), the better off you'll be.

P.S. If there are any computer dudes on here, feel free to post any input on the subject.

I just tried it, and while it decreased my webpage loading speed by half, it did seem to fulfill its function. It informed me when Google search tried to get tracking info on a search request, and gave me the option to proceed or divert to a different search engine that did not want to track me.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

Yes it's legit, but it will decrease your webpage loading speed a little bit.  But I figure I'll sacrifice a couple seconds here and there to keep my shit private lol.
