Thisi is the second article I've seen in less than one day, reporting on the issuing of cellphones to senators 'in case' of a destabilizing event'. Not having any senators in my close friends, I cannot confirm this, but do suggest that WE have some thought about what WE might want to do, should such an event occur. If ONLY there was an infrastructure independent communications method... ( like shortwave radio, for example ;- )

Without knowing specificity, we can agree that some kind(s) of shit storm(s) are going to be overhead before "it's over".
The June 1st deadline to get antibiotics without a doctor's/veterinarian's prescription is racing up - my purchases from Chew.com months ago are now going "out of stock" at that source.

By the way, the current SOI we use for Tuesday nets, will be our starting point to rally up. I will post something in the radio section. I will probably add a 20 meter rallying frequency too.

I would suggest that 40 and 80 will be the best for the East Coast, and also the most likely to be useful when using NVIS. If the communications and power grids do go down I wonder how long it'll take for the government to ban amateur radio transmissions. If hams are constrained, it allows the government to control the narrative. As noted in the Firefly movie Serenity, "you can't stop the signal," so ham radio may be the only "free" method of spreading information...or misinformation. My impression is that, today, folks are less likely to obey government edicts, especially after the Chinese virus debacle.

Keep in mind mobile rigs will be the bane of government.
Brevity codes and or OTP via phone or digital will rule the day for spreading accurate information.

I was just telling my wife about the 100 Senators being offered free Sat Phones. So far about 50 Senators have accepted them. Hmmmm........ Kinda makes you think that cell service shutdown is in the works. I'm waiting to see if the House members are going to also be offered Sat Phones. Since the military is loaded with them, I don't see any issue with them being easy to come by for members of the Government. Oh, don't give it another thought. We all know that we can trust our Government. :lmfao:

Or, possibly the 50 that refused are unaware that S is about to HTF. I have no trouble imagining some Sens suffer from Normalcy Bias just like most of the sheeple.
On the other hand, they are "informed" where we have mainstream media.
