Great read and I'm glad I don't live out there.

2 Things
First, it says You've read your last complimentary article this month. To read the full article, SUBSCRIBE NOW I won't do that so someone plagiarize it but call it fair use doctrine and post it here so I can read it.
Second, it says: (bold and enlargement done by me)
Annals of Seismology July 20, 2015 Issue
The Really Big One
An earthquake will destroy a sizable portion of the coastal Northwest. The question is when.
By Kathryn Schulz
My calendar says it is July 14, 2015 right now. So that will happen next week or ? It this written as an anticipatory report, satire or ?? From the annals posted early and coming out in that next week or ?
If I could read it that might answer my question but . . ..

The New Yorker is a magazine - it's going to be in the 7/20 print edition. :) As to the "you've reached your maximum", all I can say is go back and read it next month? Maybe try a proxy? I don't want to just copy and paste for copyright reasons.

Interesting article Wellie...Thanks for posting it.
MrsMac and I lived in Seattle for ~15 years. I remember when we were living on the sailboat, one morning all hell broke loose.
We started to jump up and down in the slip. Thinking something weired was happening I jumped out of the V Berth and rushed topsides.
What I saw was every piling in the marina was spiraling like a stick keeping a dish spinning at a vaudeville variety show.
Later, the radio announced that there was a earth quake in California but never spoke to Seattle receiving any earthquakes. It was really eery. Obviously Seattle lives on some fault line that goes south.

Teaching certainly qualifies here. If not others. And I am confident all 4 of the 4 in the balance is in favor here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use
Fair use is a limitation and exception to the exclusive right granted by copyright law to the author of a creative work. In United States copyright law, fair use is a doctrine that permits limited use of copyrighted material without acquiring permission from the rights holders. Examples of fair use include commentary, search engines, criticism, parody, news reporting, research, teaching, library archiving and scholarship. It provides for the legal, unlicensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author's work under a four-factor balancing test.

My wife just heard about the Cascadia fault line and I told her if it happens we should immediately go out and buy as much food as we could. She doesn't know that I've been prepping and maybe that story will bring her around to prepping. She's a city girl use to having the stores close by and has to shop by the week.
What is your opinion about this and should this be concidered a SHTF on the east coast?

Shep Smith from Fox News had a 7 minute interview with Professor Michio Kaku. (link to interview below) That guy knows more about earthquakes than about anyone else. This is scary. I was taking a break from lawn mowing in 96 degree S. Ga. sun today and it just happened to come one. If I lived there, I would not be there more than another week.
It is documented to have happened about every 240 years. The last one occurred in the year 1700. So it is about 50% overdue. Japan will get drenched a few hours after 700 miles of pacific coast gets hit with a 100 foot tall tsunami. If you are there, GTFO now. If you are there and do not leave, bye-- glad to have known ya.
