About 9 months ago I picked up my first AR15 for $399 with a MOE pop up rear sight.
Btw outonowhere saw the receipt so he can confirm this statement.

I can understand why you offer proof.  That is an unbelievable deal.  Congrats.  Those kinds of opportunitites don't show up very often.  It's nice to have cash on hand when they do.   :)

Those look like the standard army issue boots?

Those things are awesome once they get broke in, if thats what they are.
Can you elaborate the situation that gave you a bad experience with the standard army issue boots? ( if thats what they were )

I'll take a photo in a minute for you Reaver, you are right that they are light, cool and comfy once broken in.

But I tear the soles off of them in little chunks.

I was on the horn with Reaver last night and I told him something that I could have swore I had posted up but I guess he had missed it you I am posting it here because it is a wicked score and a success that can be shared!

Mechanics us a product called 'Zep Brake Clean,' they use a lot of it these days.  This product comes in really nice 30 gallon steel drums that Zep doesn't buy back from them so after a while the average shop has enough of them turned into trash cans that they don't mind parting with a couple of them and most often they let them go for nothing.

We got on the topic because we were talking about putting fuel away and Reaver lamented over the cost of 5 gallon cans. I think that it will prove to be much more economical to only own one or two 5 gallon cans and use them to ferry gas to and fro the station, barrel and tank.

Down loaded an ap for my droid about a week ago (free) that is the us army survival guide covers a LOT of really good info. Ill give one example that I learned.boil oak bark for several hours have a cure all for just about any external injury save for a sunburn. Tannic acids build up more in red red oak than white.the longer you boil the bark the darker the concoction gets the stronger your EXTERNAL ointment will be.seriously if you haven't read this get it.if you ignore such information go choke your self to death or find something sharp to fall onto.if you read it you can learn how to make a spear trap to run through and you won't have to find something shap to fall on because then it could just fall on you!

Alright here is a good one for you guys.

I traded a Yankee Hill front gas block and site for a MI ( Midwest Industries Inc, ) rear site.
The rifle came with a Magpul but I donated it to my father because its the only one that will fit under the scope he is running on his rifle ANYWHO--- I got the MI ERS ( Emergency Rear Site ) for trade, when I zeroed it I had to crank it all the way to the right, I mean flush against the right side of the site.
A good friend of mine said " It's probably defective, see if they will replace it "
Well I got un-lazy and sent an email to MI and WITHIN 15 minutes I got a reply. Let me quote.

Quote
Please give us your shipping address I will send you out a replacement. We want the old one back so I will send a call tag.   Thanks. Troy

That is the response I got in 15 MINUTES!!4 days later a brand new site shows up at my door. Amazing. That is what I call costumer service, that shit is like Mom and Pop service right there. I like it, so now any time Midwest Industries is brought up they will for sure be getting a  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co from me.

I mean shit, they even paid for both shipping TO and FRO.

You just don't find that no more.  I guess some companies still believe in

Scored 40 rounds of Federal gold match 168 gr. for $20. Should've been $50.

On a side note. I seen a good buddy of mine today. Probably haven't talked in about 2-3 months. After preaching to him for about 3 years on prepping he finally did. I guess he was waiting to catch up to me a little and then talk, but he got his first AR (DPMS for a good price so I can't give him to much shit), ammo, gear, heirloom seeds, garden, etc. all going strong so FUCK YEAH!!!  :D It's awesome when you know you've made a good impact on someone's life.

finally I have a reason to post in this thread!

check it out! I scored 2 food-grade 55-gallon drums (used only once for commercial blueberry purposes) for $10!! that's $10 for both.. $5 a piece.

backstory: I've been driving past this old man's house for months now and he's always got a pile of nasty rusty metal drums for $5 and I never bothered because they always look so nasty I doubted whether or not they could even hold liquid.

well today i decided to stop anyway and ask if he had any food-grade drums, and he says "of course! they're all food grade!"... I wondered if he even knew wtf I was talking about and said "no.. like... never held any nasty chemicals or anything... like.. good to hold shit that I plan to eat..." and he's like "oh!!! yea those are in the back!"

so he brought me to another pile of drums that have only ever held blueberries, which is proven by the smell, and also by the labels on the outside of them. FUCKYEA! needless to say, I'll be back for more. $5 food-grade drums is a fucking hell of a success story if you ask me. I'll finally be starting my rainwater-harvesting project that I've been putting off.  :))
