No I got ya' and not to
however Max is an inside cat who is very crafty at getting outside
He pushes out window screens, pushes the screen door open if it isn't latched, charges the door when my wife tries to open the door with packages in her arms, etc.
He is quite the smart critter.
Max is now 15 years old and still is a hunter. Our wood stove chimney attracts starling's in the spring like S$%^T draws flies. He sits in front of the wood stove waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden he starts talking which is a sign for MrsMac to open the wood stove door.
When MrsMac opens the door a bird will fly out and Max 'will get 'em every single time! In his younger days I have seen him jump 8-9' feet in the air to grab 'em. While this is happening our lazy cat Emma, just follows Max around meowing. Sometimes he will put the bird down so she can play with it. Nine times out of ten, Emma just pokes it around and then the bird flies off. Max then has to re-catch it.
To your point though SK, Max is a special cat not akin to most "house cats."
