I've been searching the forum but haven't been able to find a thread on "550 paracord". Surprising, seeing as this is an item that almost everyone seems to have their own opinion on.
I bring it up, in part, because I bought 3 bundles of 30 metre of "mil-spec 550 paracord " today (even though most of this commercially available stuff seems to be more like the 350 to me).
Any way, I would like to carry a large chunk of it on me so I was wondering if anyone had any good belt tutorials.
I'm also curious if anyone has any projects that predominantly use paracord.

Try searching these terms separately: cordage / 550 / paracord / spool
"Cordage" may not be a specific topic here, but you'll find it is discussed quite often. It has also been mentioned that there may be just as many, or more, uses for bank line when compared to 550.

Cheers

I forgot to mention, I know I've seen umpteen tutorials on Youtube about paracord braiding... I'm sure at least one of them is about a belt.

Maybe I should have put this in DIY because after too many tutorials to mention I decided to take an idea that I thought looked effective and adapt it to what I need and it's going pretty well. I'll check in in about three days, when I'm done (seriously, this is gonna take hours). If I ever need to use this cord it is going to stay a bundle of cord.

+1 for bank line.

For 90% of what I use 550 cord for, bank line does a better job with a fraction of the weight and space. Problem is finding it locally for me and since I have several K of 550 I just can't bring myself to buy any online.
550 belts and stuff are cool but if you are actually going to use it, just coil up 50ft of it and stick it in your pack. :)

I had no idea what you guys were talking about with "bank line" but after checking the Internet I now know that I have been carrying around a roll for ages (about half a roll now). Even though it is useful (hence me only having half a roll left) I've always found it a pain in the ass to work with.
Usmc, I already have 2 30m bundles of 550 on my BoB but my get home bag can't take anything more, hence me wanting to keep some around my waist. Also I've, on occasion, had cord knot up on me and it seems to me that having it in the form of a belt, strap, sling etc that's easily deployable could be handy (and it's more space efficient than a bundle.
