I've been digging into this police chief Mark Kessler and his purposed Constitution Security Force. The idea stems from a resolution unanimously passed in his town of Gilburton Burough which authorized the government to use "whatever means necessary" to counter local, state, and federal gun control attempts (confiscation specifically). According to interviews and his own website, the force will be all volunteer, recruits being LEO, .mil, and civilian. Everyone provides their own gear. Those who join will have no arrest powers or participate in police activities, it's strictly an auxiliary for the worst case scenario. Training and firearms qualifications will be incorporated, and when I say training, I mean TRAINING (according to his most recent interview Friday, that will be handled by ex-military acting as instructors). It's a no-holds-barred unit prepping for war.
What do you guys think of this idea? It's not the same as some of these "militia" units that the Left loves to mention. The town backed the measure and seems to be largely on board with the idea of a CSF as well. Kessler's website says he'd like to see other chapters started in every state and as many counties as possible. I think it could be a good opportunity for some of us to get the training we've always wanted, plus you have the added benefit of being organized and sanctioned by the local government.
Thoughts?
