Winters coming early
« on: September 14, 2011, 03:29:12 PM »
I'm glad I spent most of August clearing dead fall and splitting wood. It just started sleeting and it's supposed to go down around 20 tonight.

We had frost for the past 2 nights here. I love it. I'd say I'm in my element, but I can't really do anything now due to my shoulder injury, but I still love it.

Yeah we had frost last night as well. I should be used to it but to many years away stationed in warm places. I do like knowing that for about half the year the weather will keep people away after shtf

Sleet? Frost? Where do you guys live? If you don't want to name a place Lat / Lon will work +/- a couple of degrees.

Yeah I agree Veritas.  This hot weather is starting to suck.  I wish it would cool off.  We've  been getting a lot of rain but that just means when it stops it gets steamy.

Same here with the rain.  One of the good things that Hurricane Irene gave us was a bit cooler weather, but not enough.  I'm ready for summer to be over.

Time to think about getting the white camofoam tape out. Lol. Oh well I guess we might have some nice days in the 60's next week. I still have some outside work to do. I found a deal on old rail road ties. If the wheeler will haul them up the ridgeline on the trailer I'm thinking of a kickass op/fighting position with them.

Be sure to post up a thread on that. I, for one, would love to hear what you'll have going on. Don't break your OPSEC though ;)

Bring on the cold weather! I love it!

When we lived in Annapolis and again in Ft. Perice the weather in the summer sucked! Hot and steamy. In both places we lived on the boat and I had to go and design a way to pipe in cold air from a normal window air conditioner to just survive. I know that their are marine versions but just could not afford one.

The maples in my neck of the woods are starting to turn red.  :))

Yeah I suppose it's that time. I just have to get used to the idea again. Ts one of the reasons I moved back home. I live in the coldest spot in the lower 48 because it keeps people from moving here. Plus hunting season is coming up and the freezer is getting low. This year I'm gonna can venison as well just in case there is no more power company.
