Yeah, Kunstler gets it. I'm somewhat surprised he admits that alternative energy is not sufficient to carry on our lifestyle and our civilization.  Kunstler has been saying for years that we're past peak oil.  His book The Long Emergency is about peak oil, and it's worth the read.
