Ok ladies, listen up. I took some (minor) offense to the heat you were giving Vibram shoes, so sit down for story time!
A long time ago, I was an active kid that played baseball. At age eleven, I got struck with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The pain was so bad that I had to give up sports and even the senseless running around kids do for fun. Long story short, I've tried every therapeutic sock, shoe, insert and even paraffin wax.
Vibram shoes are the only things that allow me to stay on my feet for hours at a time. That means I can exercise longer (resting heart rate has dropped from about 100 to about 70 since January), work harder, and feel better that I have in over ten years. Yes, they are pricy, but so is pain medication.
(They're machine washable too, so if they stink it's your own fault.)
And for what it's worth, I've had more pretty girls approach me out of the blue to inquire about my shoes than any haircut, shirt or other fashion article I've ever worn.

AND THEY'RE BLACK! I thought black was always fashionable?
I haven't seen so much rage against a new product since smokeless powder!
