Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos Could Be Headed Your Way Soon
The sweet shock of a new Oreo flavor used to be a lot more tangible - as in you wouldn't know there was a new variety until you were standing in the cookie aisle of the supermarket holding the package. Nowadays, Instagram has become like a digital grocery store of sorts, with whistleblower accounts debuting Oreo news before the brand itself has a chance to announce it.
Just last night, user @junkbanter blasted his followers' feeds with rumors of a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreo. According to his post - which features a mock-up of the bag - the cookie halves taste like graham crackers. It's a nod to typical pie crusts, which are often made with the crackers. The inside is a half-and-half swirl of peanut butter and chocolate cream.
As @junkbanter notes, this isn't the first time Oreo has made a chocolate-peanut butter cookie. There's the classic Peanut Butter Oreo, with peanut butter filling and chocolate cookies, and the beloved Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Oreo. That 2014 flavor is nearly identical to the purported Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreo, except it was made with the standard chocolate cookies.
At press time, Oreo hasn't responded to our email to confirm or deny that the new flavor will be dropping soon. We'll update this story as we learn more.
