Title: NC Power Station Shootings
Post by: Nemo on December 05, 2022, 08:56:25 AM
This stuff has me a bit more perked up than usual.  More a bright yellow level than dull.

Might want to check some things around the house. 3Bs plus 2 idea.

Dark area in NC LEO has declared an emergency, curfew at night stay off the streets.

First follow up to govt control expansion post covid?

OR

IF a dozen or so round into a couple substations and a bunch of folks are without power for several days. Imagine 20 guys (remember 9/11?) getting some quantity of more potent explosives and targeting a half dozen of the BIG transmission line towers on a half dozen major distribution lines.

Add in some rifles and a round or 2 in the small transformers on the neighborhood power poles. Could be a cold winter.

I took a look at Google Earth Maps and located that substation. Hmmmmm..... There are 3 Solar Farms surrounding that substation. I have no idea who might be pissed off about Solar Farms but my guess is that has somkething to do with the vandalizing of the substation.

Its just those far right extremists who were upset about the drag queen show.

There is a new substation being built north of the nearest town.  It is about ten times larger than the present one.  I assume it is a response to the population growth we are experiencing in FL.
Anyway, my first thought was "tempting sabotage target?" .  Then this report from NC is in the news.

Cooter,
What do you want-a bet that rather than AntiFa and BLM Inc rioting peacefully protesting in the streets, the new target will be sub stations. One station taken out effects 30,000 households. Gee willikers, what a great time to really throw sand into the cogs of our lives then for a couple of hundred sub stations taken out during the winter.

Another reason to ban firearms maybe?  ;)

Add to this threat, aren't we shutting down hydro, coal, natural gas, oil, nuclear, etc. power plants? Why

Relatively soft targets make attacks on the grid like this tempting for any group with an axe to grind.

As to the attacks on energy production: build back worse/let's go solar/save the polar bears from drowning/buy a tesla /stop cow flatulence now etc.  Also, utilities are a powerful means of social control.

Good source RB.

I like that S2 gives quality briefs with rational analysis as opposed to wild speculation.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for a group to take action against the grid.  The last incident was out on the west coast and I expected some copycat attacks, but nothing has materialized until now.  It could be a long, cold winter for some folks.

Do we have any Unchained Preppers in the black-out areas?  I'm wondering what their local observations are, secondary and other effects?

I thing NC Scout over at American Partisan lives in that area. He may have written about it at AP.

Gee - I sure hope that he has a radio.... moo-ha-ha-ha!

Looking forward to a SITREP and full AAR about his observations in the situation. One real plus, is that any neighbors with noisy Chinese electronic gadgets generating radio frequency interference (RFI) are off the air.  Quiet bands and purpose driven radio is a plus.  HF radio to include Winlink in a communications black-out is a real plus.

It could be a big distraction as in "hey, look over here" while something more sinister is going on in the other direction

Thats rather silly.  The substation is out and power is off.  Where will he plug it in?

Sheesh and Criminatley.  Even I know radios need electricty.

Nemo, you are aware that most HF receivers run on 13.8 volts (12-volts) don't you. Most preppers who have a ham license has a backup power system in case the juice goes down.
