If you need that stuff, your fucked. Don't waste your money. Buy one m40 and some training filters to be used with Cs gas only.

Don't waste your time and money on suits man. Get some spare NATO filters and some potassium iodide tabs. If you need more than that you're in over your head and severely phucked. Unless of course you're Chuck Norris. Then PM me I'd love to group up after the collapse. My beard comes in red, and I'm about your height so maybe I can be your sidekick? Please, think about it.

I had no luck finding new production, unexpired, top name brand NBC cartridges (3M, Scott) in stock a few months back so I settled for these:

the only thing you would need a filter for is CS gas and if there is NBC Agents being used then i would not want to live in that

You don't need a suit for cs gas.

Hey WW; I look like and roll similar to Chuck Norris. Many people mistake me for him when I go out. There are just a fe minor differences and they are:

I am 5' 11" and weigh 215-220 depending on how much beer I drank that week. My hair isn't red but a lovely shade of gray; ONLY AROUND THE TEMPLES mind you.

I practise my kick boxing using kitty toys- Which my cats love!!!

Yup WW, I am a lean, mean fighting machine  :))

Sorry M1919A...You may want to introduce yourself.  :)) :))

Some of y'all poo-poo NBC gear, saying you'd rather not live through such things...But, living in a very urban environment, I can fore see several possible, temporary events that such gear would help me get through:

> Toxic smoke from massive urban fires, or even factory fires.
> Chemical spills from factories.
> Chemical spills from train derailment (a major concern at my location.)
> Nuclear reactor meltdown.  If you can keep the radioactive particles out of your respiratory system while escaping the area, you will most likely make it through the situation relatively unscathed.
> Whatever air-born super-bug "they" decide to release on us to thin the heard.

Besides gas masks, I also have half-face respirators with the multi-use cartridges.

Hey 1919A, no offense.

Most folks (Use past intro's as a template) explaine where they are in prepping and what they hope to accomplish by being part of the forum.

Then we give advise about don't mentioning Mr. Lock & Load and crap like that.

From me, JohnyMac, welcome man to SP!!! These guys and gals are a great group of folks who have a lot to offer.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I am very low in the prepping community. I do not know what I really want to accomplish. I at least want to pick up some more information on prepping. (http://www.smileyvault.co

Cool M1919A, well there is a lot of info here. Suggest you use the search function to start out with. By the way, no worries on just starting out. You will get to where you want to be in short order.

IMO think I think your priorities should be, listed in order are:

Food & Water
Defenseive weaponry
Other important supplies (Meds, cooking, lighting),

Others on the site may think Defensive weaponry should be first.

Good luck and have fun...

JohnyMac

Mountain I agree but I have mine for CS so they are more of defencive force multiplier someone gases my place they think I will be down and catch them by suprise. Or if you were to come across some canisters that were unused you would have the ability to use them offensively.

i agree but i dont see much cs useage in a wrol situation, i'd rather have 500rds of 5.56 ammo than a gas mask

its all in what you can afford
