info regarding US power grid. Hacked by Iran. Seems like this could be a problem.

This is one of the most realistic scenarios that would drive us to Prep :dancingGrenade:

lets hope the hackers don't opt for a 'fire sale'

It would surely lead a crapton of other folks to start should they make it through.
And it would lead me to be very happy I already do a pile of prepping. And let me last longer than the rest of the neighborhood who decided the govt would take care of them.
And its a good chance of happening. It would not take much to make the moving electrons go away for a week or 6. Without hacking or otherwise getting into a computer system.

I retired from an electric and gas company 13 years ago and back then the CO. that I worked for took security very seriously. Some companies didn't and to this day some are lax.
When I built this house which in this area almost everything is electric I told the contractor I wanted everything Propane, there isn't any naturel gas near here. He looked at me like I was crazy. The only things I really need electricity for is my well, septic system and heater fan.
I haven't bought a generator yet but its high up on the list.

Propane generator (or conversion) no doubt

IMO, this could be devastating to this or any other country so reliant on electrical current. We have back-ups for all electrical devises at the cabin.

Without a doubt BiFuel with a Generlink connection. My electric Co-op installs them.

I did not know those things existed. I think I shall have to get one on the list when I get my own redoubt on the grid. When I want it on the grid.
