Title: Meta Data?
Post by: Burt Gummer on July 07, 2013, 01:12:19 AM
I'm sure we've all heard of the a "Prism" thing by now and all this cell providers crying about how they only gave "meta data" to the government and how our private calls aren't compromised. Well here's what that tells you.

It's from a German politician who sued "Deutsche Telekom" (NSA Collaborator) into releasing what the meta data shows and then displaying it.
Go ahead and hit [play] and increase the speed, you'll get the gist pretty quick.

Burt,
the NSA does not actually have to listen to your calls to surmise what you are up to. They can track you. They can determine why you called X. An example might look like:

Received call from Dr. OBGYN
Called Boy friend
Called Planned Parent Clinic
Two days later GPS function on phone shows you are at Planned Parent clinic
Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Jump ahead 20 years and you are running for political office. Opposition in the government wants you to drop out of the race. They go back to your Meta Data and discover that you probably had an abortion 20 years previous.

Fill in the rest of the story....

What we see in the map can be easily done by the phone company just seeing in what cell your cellphone was registered.
Bad things happens when you can cross info from multiple locations specially to people who like to post everything they do on their social media accounts.

Public transportation chip cards used here in Argentina also track the point were you get in, and to get one you need to show your documentation and have it assigned to you personally. Many people exchanges their cards to avoid the Gov know who is who.

I think in modern society we are fucked, you can be tracked at all times.

Some quick steps to reduce risk:

PS: Burt, nice to see you back

You are correct APX

Lets add to that list:

> Turnpike/toll transponders
> Built in vehicle GPS tracking system
> Turning on your computer

I have shared this story before but worth repeating. Went to a ham radio meeting in January and there was a 911 gentleman giving a lecture. To make a long story short he said that they (Police) can triangulate any cell phone, on or off. The only way to defeat this function was to remove the battery.
