Any training is good. I trained a lot when I was younger, and also taught some. Mostly Karate and Kung Fu. Practice practice practice. Don't get in a hurry to learn the harder things right off the bat. A lot of guys want to do the fancier things they see in movies. They get bored and quit, when a month later, their still practicing basic punches and kicks. It's important to get a good foundation, before moving on. Doing things over and over, make them become more second nature. Just like with anything. The fancier things will come, and they'll be right when they do. I've seen senseis fly through the training of their students, and their students look sloppy as Hell. It's all good to learn. Not just for self defense, but physical benefits, and self confidence. Aikido is a neat art. It's pretty slick, and uses your opponents force against himself. I loved picking up whatever Aikido I could. Have fun with it, and never think you're a bad- ass, if others think that of you, that's up o them. But remember, no matter how bad you are, there's somebody out there badder. When guys approached me to ask if I would train them, the first thing I'd ask them is why they wanted lessons. If they said, to get in better shape, or to be able to defend themselves, get more confident or whatever, that was fine. But if they said, "I wanna kick some ass", Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Wrong answer, see ya!
