Good question....Do the "experimental reactors" actually feed the power grid?

On another note, I noticed that I just so happen to live in the only area of the eastern half of the U.S., that is the farthest away from from reactors.....which should serve to buy me some time, just in case.

I believe that the University's reactor provides a small amount of power to the grid but that it is hit and miss on account of it being an experimental reactor, being reconfigured as often as it is.

You think you're in a good spot? What about NM?

I googled around and never really found out whats considered a "safe" distance from a nuclear reactor in an all out melt down of said reactor...if anyone has any links please post them up... im wondering because im about 75 miles more or less down wind from one...

My dad worked out at the Los Alamos Labratory for years.  He said you would be shocked how lax the security is out there, and how nonchalant some of the employees were about security.  This was way before 9/11, so I don't know if that's changed a lot or not.

There's two reactors about 130 miles Southwest of me, although they had FN and FGN respectively.
