Losing faith.
« on: March 22, 2012, 03:18:40 PM »
In America that is. I've had a hell of an interesting week, but today really summed it up for me. I was on my way home and decided to stop for a bite to eat. Figured I'd earned after being up since 4 am, walking 8 miles, and burning more calories than I've consumed. Now, I passed up this guy, at first I just seen the homeless sign. Then I saw his little boy sitting beside him on the curb. No older than maybe 3-4. Made me think of my own right away. I wasn't directly in a place to stop and give him cash, but as I sat waiting for my food I though maybe I should get him and they boy something. Maybe a Walmart giftcard or just cash. Honestly, I got a little choked up watching. I can't begin to relate really. I've been through tough times, still am. Not once have ever thought about begging, let alone bringing my son. What a memory that would be.  :( Well, something amazing happened. As I was waiting I seen the two get up and start walking through the parking lot. I figured they probably lived in the apartments nearby. Well..........I was wrong. Sure enough about 50 feet away he had parked his suv. A Jeep Grand Cherokee tricked out from one end to the other and freshly washed and waxed at that.  :o Needless to say my emotion went from sad to fucking enraged. If he really was experiencing hard times maybe he'd sell the Jeep and downsize, or maybe just sell it to get out of the payments, or hell maybe not maintain the damn thing so well. To add to it, the place I was at had Obama on the news talking about the economy turning around.  ::) And I found myself thinking "tell that to the homeless guy with his little boy out on the curb."   :-[

Point blank. America is entitled and lazy as fuck. If I could wash my hands of her I would. No, not all are like this, but after my past week (and more over, my past year) I have little to no faith in my fellow American. I have tried to maintain composure. I have tried to spread knowledge of religion, news, politics, prepping, and other arrays of useless information. Reality has finally settled. My freedoms are illusions of perpetual grief. My faith in man is but barely restored by one person before it is stripped and tossed in the mud by another. If ignore is bliss than I will refrain and live in misery.

Well, you won't have to worry about faith in the American people for much longer.  If you've been paying attention to the moves that have been and are being made over the past few months the plan is starting to become clear.  The majority of the American people will be begging for big brother to provide for and protect them before November.

I've got to give credit to these bastards even though they're assholes.  They're on both sides of the aisle and they're pretty damn smart.

Doesn't make it hurt any less to watch so many stumble and fall. As far as those bastards, yeah they're smart, but I give them nothing. They serve their "father" well and they'll get what's coming to them.

fuck 'em.

take care of yourself, ensure your own survival and that of those you care about and fuck the rest. it's not your problem if some dumb asshole wants to buy rims for his car instead of feeding his kid. sure, it ties your stomach in knots to think about the kid, but you can't help every kid, every innocent person.

get yours and fuck the rest. it's a dark mindset but it's a mindset of survival.

Can't bring myself to be that dark bro. Wish I could sometimes believe me, but I just can't turn it off like some people. It's a bitter sweet thing really. The sweet side, and it may sound sappy, but I'm often there for people. People, even strangers, have always saw something in me I've never seen, and sometimes resented, the ability to talk and empathize. Sometimes, like this past week it's burdening. Other days it's a blessing to meet some amazing people and just help them smile and see life a little differently. I guess I can't have one without the other.  ::)

Wow, great story and observation (s) WW.

Here's the funny thing: Due to the poor economy, 99 week unemployment payouts (In most states) and readily available food stamps; more and more Americans are becoming accustomed to Big Brother helping them. Sorry to sound Tin Hattish here however I think it is part of the plan.

Just a thought, WW:

En route to my college, I always pass a spot where people continually hold sign begging for help. At the time I started seeing this, I had no extra money to help them. I talked to a classmate about it, regretting I couldn't help, and she said that I shouldn't worry about it. She said that those people on the corner are usually people who make a living off of begging for handouts - except they only want cash. She said she offered some food once, and was told to fuck off (more or less). She said she read about con artists that do this - they beg for the day, go home $100-200 richer, to their nice middle-class home with their nice car. It's like a 9-5 job for them. Not saying that's exactly what was happening there, but if I was a con artist, I might bring my little boy along just to make it seem more real. Plus, it would teach the boy about the "trade" as well.

That's kind of what I figured. I've served homeless before, and given to truly homeless families who did have their children with them. It's a humbling experience to see a mother and father brought to tears over some cash.

You can't put faith is something so imperfect. Put your faith in God, and tolerate the rest.

Idk man, I think we've been in that canyon a good while now. If anything I think our "leaders" are guiding us in to the cave of communism. Think about how easy it would be to implement communism after a economic collapse, war, or other major event. Americans would be lining up for their little red books in no time like lambs to the slaughter.

You're telling me? LOL. Thanks. I realize that, but it's like freaking Sodom and Gamorrah around here at times. No homo jokes. I'm talking the real sin of Sodom and Gamorrah.
