Sledge, don't get me wrong, it is far from ideal, but that is the state of government, there is no simple way to fix it. Raising corporate taxes, legalizing drugs like marijuana/hemp to get tax dollars from that, etc........ there are many strategies that We The People can do to start to get out of this mess.
Absolute BS, this line of thought is what has us in the mess we are in. The mess we are in leads to hyper inflation absurd taxes and eventual collapse.
To cut the debt we have to fucking raise taxes! Christ what a bunch of libtard bullshit. I can't believe I'm on the same forum as you.
How about we do what a working American family would have to do and cut back expenditures.
lol, I love you too Curahee.
The government is nothing like the everyday working family. I've never meet a family even remotely that operates like the government. Cut expenditures is a great talking point, but means nothing in terms of the government and how it actually works. Problem is one side wants to cut this, the other side disagrees and wants to cut something else, and the American people are left to suck the fumes. I wish it was as simplistic, but reality shows it just isn't.
Your damn right you've never seen a family operate like that- because they would be bankrupt. A few businesses operate like that during their first couple of years but, if they don't start turning a profit, they go bankrupt and the bank auctions off all their shit.
You act all "OMG it's to complex you can't understand" when it is really you who doesn't understand. It's this simple-
expenditures - income = deficit OR Income ? expenditures = surplus
you can't operate with a deficit for very long, end of story
And we can most certainly cut expenditures; the federal government is the largest bloated wasteful redundant organization to have ever existed. Half of every dollar taken in is wasted in redundancy corruption can graft.
And your plan is to raise corporate taxes (great lets drive more jobs offshore) and legalize pot so we can tax it (you need to stop smoking it so much)
NOTE: I am fore the legalization of marajuauana because I don't recognize the government?s power to say what we can or can not smoke. But taxing it (or anything) above whatever everything else is taxed is nothing but government sponsored bullying.
