This could either be very good, or very bad. There was talk that when he named Kim Jong-un as his heir, that the military didn't like it. Said he was too "Pro West" or something of that nature.

Now either he actually opens up, or is like his father, OR, and this is the troubling one, the military uses this to stage a coup, and some real insane hard line DPRK General takes over.

Remember, North Korea has a few nuclear weapons (anywhere between 5 to 15).

Personally, I'm glad to see the fucker gone.

From KCNA

Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, passed away from a great mental and physical strain at 08:30 December 17, 2011, on train during a field guidance tour.
The WPK Central Committee and Central Military Commission, DPRK National Defence Commission, Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and Cabinet released a notice on Saturday informing the WPK members, servicepersons and all other people of his passing away.

Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il had received medical treatment for his cardiac and cerebrovascular diseases for a long period.
He suffered an advanced acute myocardial infarction, complicated with a serious heart shock, on train on December 17, Juche 100 (2011) for a great mental and physical strain caused by his uninterrupted field guidance tour for the building of a thriving nation.
Every possible first-aid measure was taken immediately but he passed away at 08:30 on December 17.
An autopsy on December 18 fully confirmed the diagnosis of his diseases. -0-

I'm not sure what to make of this yet.  I do remember reading where some of the Generals weren't entirely happy about Kim's son being made a 4 star general.  It's probably about 50/50 whether they will accept him or some of them will seek replace him.  That could lead to a coup or a civil war.  I do remember when Kim took power there he took a very aggressive approach to South Korea until he solidified his power.

I'm not so sure South Korea would be so willing to take that BS considering some of the events that have taken place in the past couple of years.

Well, what ever happens, it should be interesting for us unemployed historians.  :))

It seems that N.Korea likes to be the center of world attention so something is going to happen.

Sorry that I am double tapping here:

Watch the stock market between today and the end of the world. If N.Korea does do something it should be interesting to see how much (not if) the market dips.

I suspect, it was a very good time of year for Kim to die as this is typically a slow time in the market due to the holidays.

If you buy commodities make sure you invest in Kimchi futures.  :)) :)) :))

I have yet to see in any video an actual tear on on anyone's face.  Maybe N. Koreans can't produce tears.  I don't know.  I just find it really weird.

Didn't you see the soldiers and officers behind them sledge?
They didn't look like they were morning.
state propaganda, I wonder if they did it because they were threatened or given something.
