Y'all ought to come down to New Mexico where everyone owns a gun. Hell my Doctor and I talk about guns all the time.. but then again my Doctor is a Veterinarian.
TG, you're an animal. LOL I talk guns all the time with my Veterinarian, he's a big bird hunter and owner of bird dogs. I have found one neurosurgeon that will talk hunting with me, but I'm still careful what I say around him, nothing about firearms or self-defense, or the upcoming unpleasantness, though. However, if I had better income, I'd be out there ACTIVELY SEARCHING for every kind of doctor that understood everything that is going on right now and what might come. That includes primary care, neuro-surgeon, any type surgeon, and especially any ER surgeon or a trauma surgeon. Nurses as well. Anything with trauma and/or primary care would be awesome for any tribe. I still haven't found a primary care physician that doesn't frown when talking guns. I'm going to keep trying. If I could fine one in my immediate AO, that understands, because they would become a VIP in the upcoming festivities. If you could get your hands on an ER trauma surgeon or nurse, before or in the beginning of the festivities, he/she would be worth their weight in gold. I always think of smart ways to "test the waters" or "break the ice." Watch their expressions and what they say, but their expressions will probably tell you everything. See what kind of an answer you get. If you get a confused answer, that usually means they are not with it. If you get an answer back, like you'd get from a fellow prepper, count your lucky starts.
Also, think about this, doctors work in an environment where they see people everyday who have had something go wrong in their life. They may just be more open than you think to prepping, because everyday, their job reinforces that something went wrong in someone's life, and they are there to try and fix what went wrong, whether that is illness from a pathogen or trauma, people go to the doctor when something is wrong most of the time. If they don't seem overly the NAZI, I'll turn you in type, you might can even slowly work on them. I'm still trying myself.
