Title: Iraq; What happens now?
Post by: Ghost on December 19, 2011, 03:53:14 PM
So, the Iraq War is over. What will come next? A breakdown into civil war? Iran decides they would like to take it, either literally, or they stage a coup and install an Iranian friendly Gov.?

Right now, I'm not sure. I mean, it's a real big guess as to what COULD happen. So many possibilities, it hurts my brain just thinking about it. Your thoughts lads?

Well everything could go fine. You never know.

Also possible, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one yet.

I think Iran will try to put their people in power with Shiite assistance and it could eventually lead to a civil war.  I think they will also try to do the same thing in Afghanistan when we leave there in an attempt to rebuild a Persian empire.

However the Pakistanis will probably be vying for control of Afghanistan when we leave.  Their security forces installed the Taliban to power in Afghanistan before 9/11 and looked at Afghanistan more or less as one of their states.

In Iraq, Saudi Arabia will not look kindly to Iran interfering, due to their extremism and the Sunni population in Iraq.  This whole region, as has been true for generations, is a powder keg.  It's not just Muslim against the Jew and the west, it's Muslim against Muslim.

You know that we forget this and it's such an important point.

Again, the Middle East is such a powder keg. How will it affect us when it blows up? I still think the colapse of the EU followed similarly here.
