They stopped making Hummers in 2011, so used is the only way to go. I'm on my second Jeep too, and I'll never buy another one. It's a 2014 Wangler Unlimited, it gets oil changes every 7000 miles, synthetic oil only. The latest problem was a faulty oil sensor/switch, which caused the check engine light to come on. I diagnosed it, and made an appointment with a dealer. The mechanic checked it, and determined that the oil sensor/switch was indeed faulty, and according to the internet it's a common problem. The service manager explains that the switch is not covered under the lifetime engine and powertrain warranty. I'm like WTF, the sensor is part of the engine, he says, no, it's considered an accessory. I guess under Jeep's definition the radiator is also considered an accessory. $700 later the vehicle is back on the road.
I should have learned with my first Jeep, which was purchased brand new, a CJ-7. Within four years the rear wheel wells and the hood had rusted completed through. I'm not talking pinhole perforations, but 1"-2" holes, the hole in the hood was 5"-6" long. I've never seen a vehicle rust like that. It was to the point that it wasn't safe, so I unloaded it cheap.
Jeep has a very poor service reputation, and I've experienced it.
