Good read.

Not sure if any of you guys like to read (or can  :P), but I bought this book called "The Harbinger" by Jonathan Cahn actually just a couple hours ago and I'm already half way through it. It's based off some prophetic history of the US. It's based in a more fictional setting, but has the actual prophetic teachings throughout it. I guess that's more so that the reader can remember the meanings and understand the steps taken to arrive at a better understanding of the prophecy. I'm sure there's quite a few going "Pssh, please, prophecy  [img]http://www.smileydesign.n," but I got to say I'd place my guns on the fact no one here who could prove them otherwise.   ;D It's only 253 pages and $10 on Amazon. $9 for Kindle.

P.S. Might even help some of the wives not to in tune with prepping come around. After all, what says I'm not crazy like some 3,500 year old book that backs what's happening here today? LOL

if religion helps some ones wife believe there are big problems ahead then that same wife also thinks shell be saved by jesus or other... so for her there would be no point in prepping. if i beleived that jesus was going to come and save me i wouldnt waste my time buying a bunch of beans. is that a possibility? yes... but im not putting all my eggs in that basket... and if it is true im probably too late when i see it happening to finally beleive it... in short... most people who are big on religion and relate the bible to what preppers are preparing for are going to care less about prepping.

And I'd probably agree with you if the book had something to do with the Rapture and Jesus Christ return. Based on the perspective you're giving it's obvious you come across a lot of "baby christians" who take what their pastor says word for word as truth. That'd be like me reading a book by Pat Robertson where he says "wormwood" in the book of Revelation is an asteroid that will kill 1/3 of all life on earth. However, I'm not a baby christian and I can do my own research and debunk myths like that.

In regards to those christians you probably come across that do nothing but preach the Rapture and some glorious escape from the hell on earth. Tell them to open their Bibles and read Amos 5 because it is a direct condemnation of what they preach. When research probably and done in responsible moderation prepping I believe is very biblical. You need to remember prophets like Joseph who were able to discern the pharoahs dreams and prepare enough food for all of Egypt to last through a seven year famine. Or likewise prophets who came out to speak against their own nation because it was falling away. This is no different. And by no means am I calling anyone here a legitimate prophet, but I think a fair percentage have the right idea and see what's going on. My hope is that you all would dig deeper. If I didn't give a shit, and really didn't care about any of you guys I've spoken to over the past couple years I wouldn't have bothered coming back to say another word.
