Title: I'm Proud of Gun Owning Patriots.
Post by: Reaver on December 21, 2012, 07:35:17 AM
Found this over on the AK files. & I tend to agree.

So, it's 1:30 AM and I'm laying awake in bed.

I started thinking about the fact you can't buy a damn round of ammo right now.

That's great.

Gunowning patriots really responded.
They bought all the ammo. Gone.
They bought all the mags. Gone.
They bought every semi-auto rifle in the country and then some.
They are still looking to buy more. EVERYWHERE.

IT'S THE BEST DAMN SIGNAL WE COULD HAVE SENT THE COMMIE BASTARDS.

Our bunch really responded in kick ass fashion.

Yeah, we were all a little shell shocked at first but we figured out real quick what to do and responded.

Some are also denigrating us for speaking out as vociferously as we did.
I'll tell you what. It was necessary.

Time for the Leftwing, commie assholes to get a little shell shocked.

What do you think they make of what's going on?

Do they think we're buying all this shit to turn it in when they command us like a bunch of slaves?

LMFAO

LMFAO,

You know he is right.

Imagine Barry sitting in the Oval Orifice talking to his Sr. team and saying:

"Well team...because of the shooting and that bitch Feinstein opening up her pie hole the damn gun nuts have increased their stock pile of ammo and weapons by 25%! Oh shit!"

No joke.  every gun shop in the area has shelves and racks that are 3/4 empty.  The shop in Melbourne said that they have never seen anything like the past two days.  Not even after Obama was elected.  The guy said there is a frenzy for anything that will fire a bullet.  Her CC instructor told her that if she wanted the mini 14 she was looking at she had better walk out the door with it because it wouldn't be there in an hour.  Two hours later he called saying it was gone.  She's been kicking herself in the butt all afternoon.

I think some folks are getting ready for civil war. Bummer...

It should be interesting to see what will happen in the coming months. Stay tuned.

I think you may be right....only question is whether or not it'll be the same bat time and bat channel.

Let's hope at least some of those people now go out and get some instruction.  And not just in how to shoot bulls eyes from the bench at 100 yards.   [img]http://www.smileydesign.n

I agree people need training but in all reality, what percent of Guerillas in history ever had proper training? Thats to include our own farmers and bakers in the Revolution.

And we have 24 million veterans living amongst the population with atleast some military training.

Bizarre story:

Two months ago I needed some help at the BOL moving some stuff. Well my brother brought a buddy of his who is retired Army. I think he was a Ranger.

He is a great guy and has given us great tactical advise over the years and he works like a 'rented mule.' You just keep putting, steak, potatoes and salad into his face and he never stops. Anyhow, back to the story.

He brought a new AR upper he had purchased and wanted to sight it in. My brother and I got him all set up at our range and he let of his first 3 round string and the rifle was shooting low and to the right.

O-Kay, I just stood there...he put the rifle down and stared at it...Then looked up to me and asked, "What do I do? How do I adjust the sights." I at first thought he was joking; however after a few minutes of me busting his chops he didn't have a clue.

Well I coached him through the process and all was good but asked him later that night hadn't he ever zeroed in a AR while in the Army. He told me, "No. If any adjusting was needed the armorer would do it."

Is that crazy or what? RvR, Walker, Chesty...Are just assigned a rifle and it is already sighted in or what?

I thought you had to qualify with your carbine in Army basic. I guess zeroing isn't part of quals. In the USMC recruits are issued rifles and live with them until they graduate. In the 2 weeks at the firing range they are taught zeroing, sight picture, trigger control, breath control, firing positions, cleaning, and wind adjustment. It's hard to believe the Army doesn't even teach zeroing in. But then agian, it is far easier to mass train an army how to use an ACOG then to train them all to be snipers. Put the red cheveron over the enemy and squeeze.

as far as i know usmc recruits do not live with their rifles during boot, and they dont even allow the use irons for qualifications anymore its all acog now  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

aint it funny how the more we advance our optics the less we give a shit about accuracy?

When I went to Army basic training last year.. Yes we lived with our rifles. Yes we zeroed them and used iron sights. We were taught all Basic Rifle Marksmanship and Advanced Marksmanship. Yes we qualified. 40 pop-up targets from 25-300 meters out. Once we got qualified with Irons then they gave us CCO Aimpoint m2's.

But morale of the story. No we didn't adjust our own rifles. We just recorded what needed to be done to them.

They live and sleep with their Rifles. I know because I was in USMC recruit training. My father told me in Army basic back in the 70s they had to turn in their rifles at the end of the day.

When I left Parris Island back in May most Platoons were still qualling with iorn sights. They gave a few platoons RCOs starting in November 2011 as a trial, but as far as I know they will stick with just iron sights. The RCOs make it more difficult for drill and the risk of them being damaged or lost during the stresses of training is a problem. On the 10km hike to the range I lost my carry handle because it came loose. Imagine if a recruit lost a $1000 optic.

Same.

Except my DS didn't let me have an Aimpoint. I hit 40 and he said " Boy, you done shot all them targets with the pea-shooter, here's a SAW "

lol DS Schenstrom was a funny guy.

Dude i Zeroed, adjusted and  maintained every rifle , weapon system, sidearm and slingshot the army ever put into my grubby little hands ( except the Hand grenade, that don't zero well). I have no idea which army your buddy was in..... No offence to him or his service to the country. But that don't jibe. I actually ran your statement by my Marine buddy! I don't want to repeat the string of curses he laid out, but the gist was something along the line of "What kind of BS is that".  But maybe your buddy isn't of the ground guy variety. I have been asked to train and or qualify for some paper pushers in the past. So perhaps your friend is retired from the Army. Just not the Ground guy Army. That does not detract from his service in the least. In fact the ground guy military doesn't happen without the behind the scenes guys who push the paper. But a Ranger would have (A) known how to zero an AR, and (B) prolly would've just thrown some Kentucky windage on the target and zeroed his rifle at home after a six pack. Just sayin......

You do have a valid point. They do seem to stick their fingers in their ears and shout LALALALALALALALALALALALAL, at the top of their lungs when presented with intelligent and articulate arguments against their general retarded view of the world.

I believe their arguments are very logical and sound. I'll take some negative karma for this but I think our side is are the ones who stick fingers in our ears and say 'lalalalalal'.

My buddy was in the rangers pre 2001. He said the rangers were mostly using optics on their rifles even then.

Makes sense to me, Since the rangers being part of SOCOM. If you were issued a rifle with a Aimpoint CCO with flip up irons.. You would of course be more familiar with the CCO.

My other buddy which Graduated Infantry school recently said when he was issued his M4 in basic it came with a Aimpoint CCO with it and he never had to zero his irons.

Interesting Cornkiller.

When we helped him to sight in his weapon he mentioned he had an ACOG sight on his service weapon.

Hey Whiskey... I have one on my AR. My wife doesn't. She shoots as good or... a TAD bit better... than I do out to 75 yards or so. After that I smoke her!

It's pretty bad that my wife and I still compete after 36 years of marriage on pretty much everything. It's all her fault as she is so damn competitive!

I do not know why but the optics help me (as well as my wife when she uses my rifle) out past 100 yards or so.

Now my nephew...Seems to have no need for flippen optics. He shot his first deer this year at 120 paces (old JohnyMac paces) with an open sighted Marlin 336, 30/30 this year.
