I've buried a couple of tubes of Silver on my property and 1 tube in my bugout backpack. I'm wondering if I should also hide a tube of silver in each vehicle. The rest is well hidden and I won't say where but the kids know where it is just in case we croak. I'm thinking that having some in each vehickle might be a good idea when things get really bad and Silver becomes super valuable. It might be the only thing that gets my car repaired, gassed up, feeds me, or at least a Bus ticket home. Is it good idea or a bad idea. The one thing that I've determined is to not keep all my Silver in one spot.

How often do you go more than 30-50 miles from home. Unless its a couple times a week, No.
I suspect you could make it the 40 miles or so without serious silver need.
When you do that far or more take a tube with you.
If its regular, hide it in the car away from your GHB. So if you get robbed and they get the bag and you have the silver to fall back on.

Nemo has given good advice. What happens if a vehicle is stolen, or you're forced to give up the keys? I can see the .gov commandeering vehicles too. I suggest burying some off your property too.

I agree, storing a tube in your car/truck would be of questionable value. Carrying a few loose bullion coins would make more sense to me - tuck a couple in the watch pocket of your jeans for example. The tube in your BoB makes sense, if overall weight isn't an issue to you. I always have to fight myself on that, balancing what I want to carry versus what I need to carry- ain't getting any younger and it shows with carrying capacity. A tube of silver isn't exactly light, and I imagine most folks you meet wouldn't accept it as they really don't have a clue about its intrinsic value.

When the SHTF people with guns and or some other weapons will be TAKING what they want and not interested in trading

If it makes you feel better and you can afford it, do it. Can't hurt unless the vehicle is stolen.
The comment on a BOB - I had one stolen on a visit to Kansas City when they broke into the car while at dinner.
Hard to remember all the little things in it, bigger items are easy to remember. Did not have any money in it but the bastards got a keltec pmr.

I normally go no more than 20 to 30 miles from the house but once in a while, I'll go 50 road miles miles to Richmond or 60 road miles to Williamsburg and once in a while I'll go 45 miles to visit my Grandson. Basically, I stay within 10 miles of the house. I think I'll only carry a tube of Silver when I go on a long distance trip. After rethinking it, I think that leaving it in the car all the time is probably not a good idea.
