We didn't take any pics of scenery the day of the rally. (Don't know why) But here are some I got from the net, that shows some of the scenery we got to see that day. (minus any foilage, and maybe not the exact spots, but the same type of scenery) Hope you like them.

Wow, thanks for linking us to those pics!  What a beautiful area you live in, HJ.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

Hey T-girl, Yeah, that area is a different part of the state than where I am from. Our hills aren't as big here, there's a lot more flat areas where I live, but in it's own way is beautiful. We got a lot of lakes around where I live. I was looking at some of the scenery I posted, and was imagining going up in one of those hills, building a little shack, and living happily ever after. Then the phone rang and I had to pop back to reality. Damn It! LOL

Some great pics hj.

Pennsylvania is a very pretty state. One of my favorite movies is Witness - Not for the story line but the scenery in South Central PA.

Well this morning the temp was 7 degrees at the cabin in old PA. As I type it is 13 out and 70 degrees inside. It is blowing a steady 12 MPH however we have had some gusts in the 20-23 MPH range. NOAA is calling for gusts in the 30-35 MPH range this evening. Supposed to go down to 0-5 tonight/tomorrow morning.

We have been getting bands of lake affect snow almost everyday for the past three. This is supposed to continue until Sunday. So in essence we get 1-2" of snow a day. Friday/Saturday we are supposed to get real snow. They are not stating the amount as yet.

Here is a picture looking south from our living room. We look out on a ridge that is about a mile south of us. The clearing below is a meadow the farmers steer use in the spring/summer for grazing. In the meadow you might be able to make out our shooting berm.

When this is all over, I am going to do a write-up of the good, bad and ugly at the cabin this winter. Karen and I have both learned allot! All good stuff.

Thanks again for posting hj.

That's a real nice picture out of your window JM! That sucks about the coming snow though. I'm getting sick of that crap. I'm ready for spring gobbler season to get here. Sounds cozy there.

Man, that sounds like a hell of an offer. I could let you know closer to the season. The only thing to consider right now for me is, my dad and I are still hunting together. Hes 91, and has slowed down quite a bit in the last year. However, I imagine he'll still be chomping at the bit come springtime. I don't know if I could make it the first Saturday, but he probably won't get out for all of them. Maybe I could sneak away. I'd just hate to pass up any opportunities that I'll have left to hunt with him. If I can get away, it sounds like a deal. And if, that other gentleman can't make it. I'm not too shabby with a turkey call. Mouth diapram, box, slate, I dabble in them all. I wouldn't win a contest, but I can do good enough to bring in a gobbler. (if he co-operates)

hj, I totally understand you wanting to hunt with your father. I wish I still could with my dad.

We will chat as we get closer to the season.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
