Title: How do you prepare your coffee?

Fresh whole roasted beans...Green Mountain / DnD
Hand ground medium/fine at point of use.
Cold filtered water/spring water
Auto drip while home / out in the wild perculator.

How do you guys prepare yours?........

Mr. Coffee flat bottom machine. Starbucks Sumatra.

Put k cup in machine press brew.

Water a hair short of a boil, add tea and let cool to about 160.  Remove tea leaves and put into refrigerator.  After chilled pour over ice and drink.  Add some sugar if you are disposed.  If you are, you should just be disposed of.

I prefer about a 60/40 mix of Oolong and Orange Pekoe.  Although Orange Pekoe and Black is also good. 

My wife just heats water, puts the Lousiane bags in it to soak a while then puts in a jug in the fridge.  I drink it.  About all tastes the same anyway.

Wife fixes it before she goes to bed, sets timer, I get up at 0430 and drink it...  :coffeeNews:

Mr. Coffee drip with a brass basket and Yuban.. I drink the whole pot so maybe just a little less caffeine is a good thing ;)

At the girl's house we've got some fancy ethiopian coffee ground coarse and a french press.. it's heavenly with just a little splash of cream.

In the wild I use instant when I'm not trying to impress, if impressions are the goal I use a french press with something fancy in it.. but that really isn't my speed.


Anyone try the Starbuck Vias?

If you mean their instant coffee...Yes. It is better than most instant coffee's. I have a handful in my BOB.

My girl friend loves the vias. Takes them camping and hunting.
Personally I think coffee smells like burnt piss. Never touch it.

I remember a cold spring night, it was more like an almost spring night we were camping out on the site of a project with crew and the 'new guy.'

We were drinking beer and shooting the bull around the fire when he mentions the Vias, says they are a lot like 'cowboy coffee only better' since he had been getting nothing but static from all the guys he looks at thatGirl and asks her if she'd ever drank cowboy coffee to which she spit on the ground and said "all the coffee I drink is cowboy coffee." You could have heard a pin drop, this poor dude was about to shit when we all busted up at his misfortune. thatGirl was a tough nut.
