That's pretty good BWB! I got my first car when I was 29 y/o. Well, the first couple years out of school, I just hitchhiked around. Then 4 years in the Navy, I didn't need a car. Got out of the Navy at 24, had trouble finding work. Found a couple minimum wage jobs, then my son was born. His mom left, it was just him and I for a while. Hitch-hiked back and forth to work, while paying a babysitter. So, needless to say, couldn't afford a car. Had some fun with babysitters though. LOL (all, more than legal) Didn't quit any jobs until a better one came along. The hitch-hiking to work and back was a pain, but it worked. Finally, when I was 29, I got my first car. It was used, and $600.00 (didn't forget a zero, 6 HUNDRED dollars), but it ran good, and I thought I was in high cotton. Anyway, kept working, and didn't move to another job till something better came. Went back to night classes for my GED. My son came to my graduation. LOL Took a machining course, got a job with a HUGE corporation, and now make what some, (including myself) would call, really sick wages. Not bragging, cause once I bought a home, had a new boat on the lake, and a couple of nicer cars, the wife was diagnosed with her illness. (oh yeah, by this point, have a family), the housing BS happened, and I was dumb enough to have an adjustable mortgage. So the banks just sold my mortgage back and forth, raising my payments to sick amounts. Finally crawling out, BUT, now my kids all drive nicer cars than mine. The two younger ones practiced on my car, and a couple of deer and ditches later, I'm still driving it. Oh well, you want your kids to do better than you, and so far, I can't complain. The two older ones are in the workforce, paying their own ways, and the youngest is going to be a senior this year. She'll do good too. Anyway, I'm glad I still have that good job, I couldn't have crawled out without it. Didn't really intend to make it this long of a story. LOL I guess my point is, BWB, I'm happy for you, Glad your parents can help you out like that. Everybody's got their own stories. It sounds like you can appreciate the fact, that you have a nice vehicle and are not going to abuse it. Good for you. Take good care of it. Things can all change in an instant. Keep a good head on your shoulders. I'm out!
