Should we be paying close attention if the sequester goes into affect?

Well i know they are cutting the border patrols pay by 40% and like 2700 agents will be fired in DHS. According to my CBP buddy this 40% pay loss will cause him and many others to let cars get repo'd homes to be forclosed. And these agents must do a background check every 5 years. Defaulting on their loans is grounds to be fired. According to him the border will bassically be wide open if this happens. 47,000 government employees in total will be laid off. It includes all sorts of agency.

The sequester/fiscal cliff crap affects unemployment benefits and things within the "real economy" as well.  That's a fact jack.  It's more big-time than you think.  As for all those peeps/sheeps dumb enough to work for the government I say "Boo-hoo."   :'(

I agree with what Walker wrote.

It's a tempest in a tea pot. Now on March 31st we hit our debt limit as a country...That will be an interesting fight to watch.

2-3% and 40% are worlds apart. One thing i dont want to cut is border patrol. A weak border patrol is why CA is a welfare state. What we need to do is cut a huge chunk out of welfare to fund Border Patrol. Not DHS, but specifically the border patrol branch.

Walker as our CA border was about 1.5 years ago when i did an all night ride along with my buddy, i could easily move across our border illegally if i wanted. It took several agents in different forms of transportation to STUMBLE upon 3 "bodies" (illegals) Matter of fact it was me and my friend who stumbled upon them. If we were a couple hundred yards further behind the other truck theyd have crossed the tiny dirt trail un-noticed. The wrangler ahead of us passed right by them as they hid in the bushes. Then as they came out to cross the trail we popped up over the crest in the tahoe and they were out in the open. Sheer luck caught those illegals. And its not like we had no idea they were out there. They set off a sensor and multiple agents were actively searching for them, 2 on foot working their sign and a few in 4X4 vehicles. Our border protection sucked then and it will suck much more if this happens.

The fact that the link provided refers to the Illegal aliens as "Non-Citizen Immigrants" tells me its a bias liberal writer. How exactly this writer knows how many illegals are using dead peoples social security cards is amazing. He should share his data with the government so we can go catch these people. Theres no way to know how many fraudulent claims are made. If they knew theyd cut them off, but they dont. All hes basing this info off of is green card holders im assuming with the "Non-Citizen Immigrant" term. Illegal aliens with some one elses SSN are just lumped in with the typical American Citizens.

CA has just made whites a minority. Its now 34% Hispanic, 33% white, and white blankets A LOT of different groups. I know hispanics pump out a lot of kids but its pretty obvious they are not just being born fast they are coming here illegally aswell. It is true with the economy so poor they arent coming here as much as they were 5-10 years ago. But a crappy economy is no excuse to let the border patrol be gutted.

I really dont care if the illegals are the problem in the broader picture with welfare. I still want to strip the welfare program to support the Border Patrol. Shit id strip the welfare program to support little kids lemonade stands if i could.

Ken, I lived in LA for four years and made countless trips to the Santa Cruz area for business. I have MANY friends in S.Cal and the Aptos/Santa Cruz area. With that said, hopefully I can make this comment and not ruffle too many feathers - California is screwed financially.

The crooks in Sacramento can raise taxes till folks bleed however there isn't enough money in CA. to pay the piper AND companies and folks are leaving in droves.

I may be way off base here but I see Ca. going bankrupt within the next 2-4 years. I can see LA looking like Detroit and small enclaves protected with hired security guards. Who will bail out CA? Will they divide up the state (North, Central, Valley, S.Cal) and let the folks fight it out or what? I do not support the Federal Government going in and bailing the state out with my money.

What is your thoughts?

Until the good people of the State of California stand together and say "enough" Ken's issue will remain.

The problem with the border patrol is not financing, it's that they are NOT doing what they are supposed to be doing.  A minority of their assets are actually "on" the border.  I declare incompetence and/or corruption.  If I am wrong Fast and Furious would have never happened.  'Nuff said.
