Title: Gas Prices
Post by: pkveazey on July 29, 2022, 08:28:05 PM
I got a big surprise today. Yesterday when I passed our local gas station, the price was $3.99, but today I went to fill up one of the vehicles and it was $3.79 a gallon. I'm glad I didn't fill up yesterday. I need to top off the Acura which takes Hi Test and it had dropped below $5 a gallon. I'll top it off tomorrow.

Yupper, there is a glut of crude around the world at the moment. That glut will start to evaporate soon as frost starts to appear on the pumpkins. The EU has a rather chilly winter a-coming-up.

With the US being out of the production of crude, I see no other direction.

Paid $3.38 for unleaded this morning.  I need to fill all my containers before the Chinese War breaks out.

I am going to gas up both vehicles later today.  Local Kroger has it at $3.79 and I have an 80 or 90 cents off on a gallon due to purchases at Kroger.  Mostly Amazon cards for other necessaries for which I often get 4 times the gas credits.  Yes Kroger is a bit more expensive but selective purchasing is good.

Instead of 10 cents off on each $100 of purchases you can get 40 cents off.  So including purchases and similar you can rather easy make a fair discount on their gas.

Applicable to 35 gallons maximum.  But spending $250 (assume nothing else) and getting $1 off on 35 gallons is a good thing by my math.

Yup, good math, Nemo.  However, I'm surprised you shop at an anti-American store.  Krogers is another chain store that has gone woke.  So, go woke, go broke.

We don't shop there anymore.  Plus, locally, their fruits and vegetables are generally poor quality, so another reason to avoid them.  We tend to patronize locally owned shops at much as possible.  During the summer months, we grow most of our own vegetables, but for things we don't grow, there's a vegetable stand maybe a mile away.

Getting back to gas, it's $3.34 this morning, so still dropping.   :dancingBanana:

I do Kroger because they do the gas thing and have some things I really like that other places don't.  And they do permit carry, just request concealed.

Just like wal mart nowadays.

In my town, depending on whether you were on the north or south side (a whopping 3 miles difference), regular is either 3.53 or 3.79
