With the weight of the vehicle in motion I think a rim hit would be more dramatic and explosive but either way the vehicle is incapacitated

Oddly enough, in the past, I've given a small amount of thought to disabling a vehicle. Let's say that somebody or somebodies have come to your location and you want to force them to not flee. My first thought was two shots. The first one through the radiator and the second through one of the front tires. With that said, I've had a blowout or quickly deflating flat tire on both the front and back while driving. Strange as it might seem, I found it harder to control the vehicle when the back tire went flat. When the back tire went flat, the car tried to fishtail and when the front tire went flat, the car car just pulled to one side.

I wonder if front wheel drive vs. rear wheel drive would make a difference.

I guess it depends on your weapon, how good a shot you are in high stress situations, and the speed & direction of the vehicle. Not easy.

On our Front wheel drive car, the back tire being flat was harder to control. My shooting comment was based on a parked car where the bad guys had exited the vehicle. The idea was to put them afoot so escape was more difficult.

I got you. Shooting a stationary car makes more sense.
