I haven't really thought about this much. Although, in the back of my mind, I know it is a tactic that has been used for thousands of years.
I think it brings another reason for the community approach. To protect the members of your community, your food sources, and your water sources, a larger group of people is going to be required. Especially, when you consider that providing that security is not going to be the only essential work to be accomplished for a group to survive and thrive.

Good added info ASPJ. Thanks for jumping in. Salmonellosis is one of those things that I don't know that much about but worries me none the less. Every time you hear that word in the news people are dying or going to the hospital.

I expected to see things like pancake land mines, and apple pie explosives.
Guess I have different ideas of food weaponry lol.
Weapons of mass deliciousness, anyone? ;D
