Last night at my youth group, One of my friends asks me if I wanted to put on his fathers firefighters suit. Naturally I said yes.

It was freaking awesome, and when I get older I will probably do volunteer fire fighting. Maybe I'll pick that as a career.

lol yeah, you have to take a lot of classes though, at least in this state.
Fun training, i wanted to do that for awhile.

Once I graduate college, I will be joining a local VFD (wherever I may be living). And if I don't find a job in my area of education, I'll join full time. Decent pay, great hours, fun/awesome job. Not to mention everyone loves Fire Fighters.

I get a good seal with mine, granted its not a "full beard", it still screams don't fuck with me... :))

well I got cleared for calls awhile ago and have been on all of the calls so far (4)
1. van into hillside- got to station for the second truck (attack truck which is a flatbed pickup) and just got to see the car being towed didn't even stop.
On the way back we ran into a car stopped in the middle of the road with a ambulance behind it. drug OD, asked if everything was ok then went home.
2. Suv type vehicle into tree.- I was at station and got to ride the rescue (think normal firetruck without all the hose on it).
Female driver went around a bend going at least 55 in a 35. Went off the road and hit a tree airborne 2 feet off the ground. I got to set up road cones and do traffic control. Lesson learned wear gloves when handling road cones due to possible tar on the bottom.
3. LZ assist for lifeflight helicopter- rode on the attack and helped load a patient onto helicopter.
4. CO detector in retirement community- rode in the rescue, no CO. Just got shit for other firefighters.
I've been having alot of fun. 3 out of the 4 calls i've been working out at the hall or taking a shower there.

i was getting my classes and shit done so i can do wildfires but it was a real pain in the ass compared to the pay check
