As subject says, Fill up your canteen's ladies and gents.
I have always tried my best to interpret my dreams but this one was pretty clear. To real for me to ignore.
Went to the cave, cracked open my go container slipped on my gear and realized that I kept my camel back empty for storing purposes. I was then forced to use stored water to fill them as my water was not running.
4 Liters short of water is no joke, when it could have been 4 extra liters of water.
Or you could just say fuck you its not happening, but I'm filling my shit up time now.

You have got a point there, a very good scary point. I don't really drink any soda but I've been having my parents save their empty bottles for me to fill with water, not to mention I have a Katadyn Hiker Pro when I'm in the sticks. But yea, for urban areas, gotta have the clear stuff stocked...
As to your dream... I believe that the subconscious mind is incredibly powerful and that dreams should not just be pushed aside. Not that EVERY dream will happen in real life, especially not as it happens, say if you are being chased around by a giant soyburger, but it still probably has an underlying message.

Thanks for your "dream post" reaver.
Two things:
1) How many of you folks use a camel back vs. a canteen. I use two 1 ltr canteens. One is on my
vest and one is on my gun belt. I do not keep them full (Probably should) but when I fill them I
I typically use 3/4 h20 and 1/4 lemmon flavored seltzer.
2) Lately, I have been dreaming about my old work. The place I worked for 19 years. Since I have
been out of work going on 56 weeks now I am sure they are connected.

I have a Camelback AND 2 1qt canteens but the canteens are on my ruck. If I needed to one of the canteen covers is MOLLE so it wouldn't take long to throw it onto my belt.

I've got two camel backs and 4 1 ltr canteens. Set up for two people. The CB's get switched between a vest or an Alice pack. The canteens are two on a belt. Each of the Alice's contains a water purification pump and tablets.
I feel your pain JM. It's more like a nightmare than a dream.

I've got a 2 liter camelback and a 1 liter canteen.
Also, if you store your canteen/camelback with water for long periods of time, make sure to switch it out periodically so you won't get mold, and so you know you have fresh water when you go to take a drink.

The wife and I use each have our own 2 liter camel backs, that travel with our rigs.
On her BOB is a 1 quart canteen, and on mine is a 2 quart squishy canteen.
Generally to store water I save the soda bottles that my family goes through, but last ( play army time ) drill.
We had our Christmas party & I managed to snag up four 2 liter soda bottles and a 1 gallon apple juice container.
( My family also eats a lot of spaghetti, so I have quite a bit of mason jars filled with water as well )
A little thing of bleach on standby just in case it does hit the fan, but every couple of months I swap out the water any way.

I used to pray at the alter of the Nalgene bottle. Those suckers are tough but now I am more interested in Source Bladders. You can drink and walk its amazing!

I've got a camelback that lives in the the BOB (empty though... maybe I should take reaver's advice).. it's actually a really nifty little feature on the BOB. it didn't come with the camelback but it's designed to hold a bladder. only other thing I have is a little Katadyn sport bottle w/filter. I really need to figure out how I can beef up my water supply if I'm on foot. that small amount that I have the capacity for won't last long.

Since we're talking about water...I picked up a half dozen of these last week:
These are not like the filter straws you can find at wally-world, these straws are far superior purifiers utilizing self contained iodine resin. I recommend using it as a lightweight back-up OR your main in an ultra-light B.O.B or G.H.B. or E.D.C.
http://store.seychelle.com/Pure_Water_Straw-Pure_Water_Straw_Advanced.html (http://store.seychelle.com/Pure_Water_Straw-Pure_Water_Straw_Advanced.html)
If you decide to order, don't forget to use their 20% off coupon code...And also be sure to get the one I linked to and not the "standard" version which does not purify with iodine. They also have an "in-line" version that works with bladders.
