Those daily prices don't mean a thing to me. They could double or triple in just one day. I'll just pick out the Silver price and say that I wouldn't sell any of mine for anywhere near the daily price.

The prices for metals are on the basic junk ingot type metal. There is a fair bit of price increase on making them into coin.

Eagles are near $40 and Canadian Maple Lefs are about $30 an ounce. Some people never learn. This is not about being a coin collector, this is about owning Silver. I have some Eagles and Maple leafs but they just happened to come in with other generic rounds that I've bought. I'd be more than happy to swap an Eagle for two generics. People can be really dumb. With that said, I certainly will save my Eagles and Maples until last because people think they are more valuable.

Yes PKv is right, silver is silver.
With that written, in the beginning of a SHTF scenario, the coin of the realm has more value during bargaining. To trade for 1-gallon of gas for a 1 oz. American Eagle vs. an Australian Kangaroo, the AE wins every time with the uneducated PM trader.
That is why I am a proponent of junk, pre '64 silver coins. It is recognizable as the coin of the realm, and has 90% value.
I own no PM's. They were lost in the ocean during Hurricane Sandy. :'(

I haven't added to my silver for quite some time and dont intend to at the current prices. However, for my part PK, I dont believe that the national mints are more valuable, it's that they are more likely to actually be what they say they are. i.e., .999 will be .999. If the coins are debased it will be a known issue. With rounds that might not be the case. I repeat MIGHT, as many rounds are from reputable mints. Like I said before in an early post I don't own a Fisch, so I can't tell for sure if a .999 1 silver oz round actually is what it says it is. And since I can't run other types of tests on a round until I buy it, its a risk not worth taking (for me). If I ever decide to buy more, I guess I'll be "dumb" and stick with select national (US, UK, Canadian, Australian and Austrian) mints and pay a bit more. :)
