   In the 1940's and 1950's, there was a guy named Wilhelm Reich who supposedly could make it rain.  He used an energy source called orgone, which was supposedly like the force in Star Wars.  Not only could he make it rain, but he could also cure cancer.  Interestingly, he was charged by the federal government with fraud, and he died in federal prison.  The federal government had all of his known writings and research destroyed, which was unusual.  Fortunately, some of his writings survived and the Orgone Institute carries on his work.
